RationalSkepticism.org Podcast (SUBMISSIONS OPEN)

#1  Postby Nautilidae » Jun 08, 2010 5:59 pm

We at RationalSkepticism enjoy rational discussions and interesting topics. The calm atmosphere of an open forum of rational thought and interesting characters is refreshing. Now, we are bringing it to you in a new format:

RationalSkepticism.org Podcast

Yes, it's true! This podcast will feature your favorite RatSkep users, rational discussions, guests and much more. Every month, a new episode will be available.

The topics of discussion are be chosen by hosts. However, forum users can post suggestions for topic ideas. We are completely open to a range of subject matter, including science, mathematics, philosophy, religion, pseudoscience and general woo, current events, and best of all, listener questions. All questions will be considered as long as they are appropriate.

Like any good podcast, variety is a must. Every week will feature different hosts, although regulars may be established. If you would like to be a host or if you know someone who would make a good host, feel free to nominate users. Another excellent feature of the podcast is guests. Each episode will feature a guest. This may include scientists, woo celebrities, and YouTube skeptics. If you wish to see a particular guest in future episodes, feel free to suggest some.

Episode 1 Hosts:

Nautilidae
hackenslash
jerome
natselrox
Paul Almond

Guest: Ainulindale21

Episode 1 has not been recorded. If you wish for us to discuss a certain topic, post it here.

Happy posting!

Great work, folks. Looking forward to it.
I'd volunteer myself, but I do have an accent, naturally, and tend not like my English in spoken language.

If you want, you can help host a future episode.

Your accent won't be a problem as long as your voice is clear. This is where audio splicing will be efficient.

I'll see how the others do first. If they suck, I might give it a try as well.

My guess is the library of printed, earthly language beginning with b has no end in sight. Bees are complex and I'm always interested to read up on how they are coping with the chaos.

Sure I'm down for that, simple and devoid of content, it would be an honor.

I have a great face for radio.

What do you mean?

Ahh I was responding to Life DJ comment. If you are looking for music, interactive, or entertainment that is something that I would help with. I have over 600 gigs of music reaching from the 20's to the 90's. But I won't be able to add anything of intellectual rigor, life is to short for all that. But if you need fun times, then yeah I am down for collaboration and finding out what you want and what you need.

That reminds me; we need an opening song. We will begin the episode by playing about 20 seconds or less of a song. Do you have any suggestions?
