Thanks! Halfway to my goal as of two days ago.

I also find I get more consistent weigh-ins if I do it first thing in the morning. After a BM if possible...aside from water, it really is the only other thing that can throw your numbers off, I think. I’ve considered nixing the scale and just measuring my waist, how my pants fit has been the most obvious change during this whole process.

I was an anomaly in that even though I had morning BMs only, I still weighed less in the afternoon, despite eating and drinking throughout the day, never made sense to me, can only be hydration level. BM is now telling me how much healthier I am, on the new diet I can't be on my feet for 5 minutes in the morning without one, and (excuse the detail) it is effortless and soft.

As a wee lad, I quite enjoyed the Filet-O-Fish®. Haven't had one in years, though. Apparently, they are quite popular during Lent. It's thanks to Lou Groen (a McDonald's franchisee) and, initially, the Catholics of Ohio, that we enjoy this odd item on McDonald's menus to this day.

That Soymin Wissla guy knows a lot of stuff.
I was expecting him to say fill-et o fish, which he did once. :excited: I've never heard it pronounced that way, but assume it's some Brits who say "fill-et".
It's probably trheir best sandwich. But guess what. FISH IS MEAT! :shifty:

Aus partner and I conflict on this all the time. Fillet might be a verb but as far as I'm concerned a slab of perch or pickerel filet eh ala filet mignon. IMNSHO

Tried for a late night ( 4am ) Whopper but had to settled for a McDs Mighty Angus .....meat and toppings decent....bun a bit tired and iffy on the barbeque sauce.

I don't eat much fast food. I'd never head of a mighty angus.
Filet is both a verb and adjective. It should be pronounced filay. :snooty:

in my experience, in french, it's filet, which is a noun - that's pronounced fill-ay, like filet mignon or the pretentiously titled filet o fish..

in english, it's fillet, which can be used as a noun or verb...that's fill-et...so fillet steak or chicken fillet

not known as an adjective here, though - in things like 'fillet steak' it's part of the noun phrase

none of which changes the fact that the filet o fish is possibly the single worst thing i;ve ever eaten from mcds...

Filet is both a verb and adjective

I think that's verb and noun rather ... eh. :coffee:

ah, you know what we're like, riding roughshod over the world...;)

perhaps i omitted the word 'derivation'...filet is from the french, fillet is from middle english...people can use which they bloody like...

still not an adjective and a filet o fish is still fucking awful...

I was thinking of filet mignon, but I guess it's a double noun instead of adjective. Same difference. I haven't learned about adjectives and stuff since jr. high or high school, and I never gave English class much priority. Why did I have to read these old fucking books, was my mindset. Shakespeare sucked. :shifty: I'm getting off track here. :shifty:
You say fillet is from middle English, but does anyone speak that anymore? :teef: Like I said, I've never heard the word fillet spoken before. We only use filet in New England.

I never said a filet o fish is good, just that it's their best sandwich. It's ok. I make much better food than McDonald's. Though for breaded fish sandwiches, I buy frozen premade patties. Not wonderful, but still better than McD's.

Their burgers are terrible, but how can you possibly say the filet o' fish is their best? Their sandwiches that use breaded chicken cutlets are actually decent, filet o' fish is just trash.

The Mighty Angus was okay as these things go. Certainly the best in terms of meaty taste....if the bun had been fresher I would have been quite satisfied.

The FF is made from Alaskan pollack which is not a trash fish at all.
McDs is trying but stupid stuff like eliminating milk for their coffee ...using creamery just keeps my use of them very marginal. ( when you are in the middle of nowhere on a mcycle McDs with warmth, wifi and cheap food is welcome. Their oatmeal in the morning gets me rolling.

I forgot about the McChicken. I haven't had one in decades, so it might be better. I've also never had a Big Mac, I'm allergic to the sauce. I should withdraw my comment on what their best sandwich is, I don't even know the lineup. :)

Yeah most of the times that I eat fast food is when I don't know where the next restaurant is going to be and/or don't want to risk an egg allergy episode. Funny that McD's in particular almost always triggered an allergic reaction for me due to their using the same grill for eggs. I gave them up for many years. I can't explain why that hasn't happened to me anymore, I'm still allergic to eggs, and they do breakfast all day.
Though I do often seek out Popeye's Chicken when I'm away from northern Maine. That shit's good.

its derivation is from middle english, which evolved from the french...probably after the norman conquest, i suppose...but fillet is still the one in common usage here...filet's for posh nobs and expensive restaurants....;)

cant say i'm a massive mcds fan as i dont find much of it has any taste...im with you, a proper made patty is much better...
