Hopefully someone will put it on youtube for us peasants.
The problem with fantasies is you can't really insist that everyone else believes in yours, the other problem with fantasies is that most believers of fantasies eventually get around to doing exactly that.

Isn't religion a bi-product of language?

A waste product perhaps.

I am going to write to the BBC to complain about the way that the evolution of language was presented as fact.

It's only a theory1 Where are the transitional languages!

Thanks for the tip, looks very interesting.

Fry's Planet Word

#18  Postby Emmeline » Sep 27, 2011 10:10 am

In this five-part series, Stephen Fry explores language in all its amazing complexity, variety and ingenuity. In his own distinctive way, he comes to understand how we learn it, write it, sometimes lose it, why it defines us to the very core of our being and can make us laugh, cry, tear our hair out and simply inspire us.

In this first episode, Stephen seeks to uncover the origins of human language and how and why we are the only species on the planet to have this gift.

Available on iplayer but hopefully available to others soon elsewhere. Well worth watching IMO.

Yup, interesting stuff!
Freedom's just another word for nothin' left to lose,
And nothin' ain't worth nothin' but it's free.
