Just got Sufjan Stevens' new album. It's far more stripped down than some of this other work. Just him and a guitar for large parts. Really great songwriting.

I decided to extract and upload the song Bruises from the concert above. Fuck, I love this song so much, that slide guitar at the end is pure heaven.

More stuff from them:

I don’t think we’re for anything, we’re just products of evolution. You can say “Gee, your life must be pretty bleak if you don’t think there’s a purpose,” but I’m anticipating a good lunch.

Not only a great groove, but some nice footage of 1950s Havana in the video.

(Lullaby from the 30 Years' War)

"Herr Soldat, tu mir nichts zu leid
und laß mir mein Leben!" -
"Herzog Christian führt uns zum Streit, kann kein Pardon geben.
Lassen muß der Bauer mir sein Gut und Hab
zahle nicht mit Geld, nur mit dem kühlen Grab!"

("Oh, soldier, do not harm me
and spare my life!" -
"Herzog Christian has led us to war, can give no pardon.
The peasant must leave me his worldly goods
Pay not with money, only with the cool grave!")
La guerra è bella perché inaugura la sognata metallizzazione del corpo umano.
(War is beautiful because it initiates the dreamed-of metalization of the human body.)

The first two links work for me.

Maybe I already posted this, but it's been playing for me since way back when, in 90-something. One more time won't hurt.
