I was impressed with my 90 year old friends who I gave an Echo to

a) loved the idea of voice

My CD collection's having something of a renaissance. When I was circa 16 it was my pride and joy, then fell away with the dawn of mp3s/internet, but now seems to be back with a vengeance. The sound quality is slightly better, and it's nice to have tangible objects to own and adore. Also the artwork/blurb and knowing one is putting real funds in the artist's pockets, and paying real money of course increases the CD's intangible value in one's mind. Browsing the CD racks in HMV...what fun! Yeah so it's worse for the environment, but hardly in 6 litre hummer territory.
