BREAKING'Many deaths' says Florida senator
Florida Senator Bill Nelson told Fox News that "there are many deaths" following the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglass High School.

Today's shooting at a high school in #Parkland, Florida is the 18th school shooting so far this year, according to gun control advocacy organization Everytown For Gun Safety.
This only happens in America. This should not be normal.

Broward County Public Schools Superintendent Robert Runcie said: "There are numerous fatalities. It's a horrific situation.
"It's just a horrible day for us."
He adds: "We have no evidence at this point there was more than one shooter."
"It is a day that you pray every day that you never have to see," he says.
Of the suspect: "We didn’t have any phone calls or threats that we know of that were made."
He added: "We cannot live in a world built on fear, we have do what we can to provide the greatest safety measures for our kids.
"Mental health issues in this country are growing and it’s certainly something that needs to be addressed in our school system."

UncertainSloth wrote:no criticism - simply an observation that prayers are always turned to, rather than any sort of action taken over it...prevention is better than the cure and all that...
if it works for them in that situation, well all strength to their arm...a horrific situation to be in as a parent, especially some of the footage and calls being reported coming out of the school...
