Alabama hospital halts IVF treatments

#1  Postby Blackadder » Feb 22, 2024 9:57 am

The Christofascist march across the reproductive rights of American citizens claims more victims. Couples wanting to use IVF may now be prevented from doing so by the religious insanity that prevails in South Talibanstan. Medical teams are reconsidering what the repercussions may be if they are accused of freezing "babies" or murdering a "human" in a dish.

Of course, the swivel-eyed loons who implement such toxic policies, don't care about the vast trail of preventable harm they leave in their wake, all they care about is posturing as doing the work of Jeebus, regardless of how diametrically opposed to actual New Testament teaching their antics actually are.

The Christian Nationalist rabble are so far rectally self-inserted, that they're re-emerging at the tonsils as human Klein bottles.

They elected this moron to the US senate. I don't know how edited it is, but he appears to not even know what IVF means. :picard:

Despite the clickbait title (the anchor doesn't say that to Tuberville or even interview him), this clip first shows their chief justice and what a loon he is.
The Tuberville comments are at 3:44.

He looks like a version of William Lane Craig attempting a George Hamilton tan.

Neither being optimal choices.

Perhaps all females in these shithole states should be granted asylum in the still relatively sane parts of the nation. See how long said shithole states last when it's just a bunch of white dudes there. When the populations crash [probably helped by guns] then they can be repopulated by the less-fuckwitted groups of people.

It is made so much worse by the fact that they had Doug Jones, who is actually a decent human being, and they replaced him with Tuberville in a landslide. Alas, Jones was a moderate Democrat, obviously too communist for Alabama. Tuberville is easily on the top 5 list of dumbest congresscritters, and a strong contender for the top spot.

Gordon Douglas Jones (born May 4, 1954) is an American attorney and politician who served as a United States senator from Alabama from 2018 to 2021.[1][2] A member of the Democratic Party, Jones was previously the United States Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama from 1997 to 2001.

Jones was born in Fairfield, Alabama, and is a graduate of the University of Alabama and Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. After law school, he worked as a congressional staffer and as a federal prosecutor before moving to private practice. In 1997, President Bill Clinton appointed Jones as U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama. Jones's most prominent cases were the successful prosecution of two Ku Klux Klan members for the 1963 Birmingham church bombing that killed four African-American girls and the indictment of domestic terrorist Eric Rudolph. He returned to private practice at the conclusion of Clinton's presidency in 2001.

Jones announced his candidacy for United States Senate in the 2017 special election following the resignation of Republican incumbent Jeff Sessions to become U.S. Attorney General. After winning the Democratic primary in August, he faced former Alabama Supreme Court Justice Roy Moore in the general election. Jones was considered a long-shot candidate in a deeply Republican state. A month before the election, Moore was alleged to have sexually assaulted and otherwise acted inappropriately with several women, including some who were minors at the time.[3] Jones won the special election by 22,000 votes, 50%–48%.[4]

At the time, Jones was the only statewide elected Democrat in Alabama and the first Democrat to win statewide office since Lucy Baxley was elected President of the Alabama Public Service Commission in 2008. Democrats had not represented Alabama in the U.S. Senate since 1997, when Howell Heflin left office. Jones was considered a fairly moderate Democrat, who supported reproductive and LGBT rights but demonstrated a willingness to work with Republicans and split with his party on certain issues.[5] Jones ran for a full term in 2020 and lost to Republican nominee Tommy Tuberville in a landslide. His margin of defeat was the largest of an incumbent senator since 2010.

I remember the Doug Jones/Roy Moore race. Roy Moore, the sex pest and sexual assaulter of minors, who was banned from a mall and a YMCA when he was in his 30's. I can't believe he somehow was a supreme court justice, too. The freak who pulled out a revolver on stage when giving a campaign speech, to show he was ready to own the libs, I guess. The fact that Doug Jones only barely eked out a victory is shameful enough. And then, as is so common in this country, we never heard of any sort of comeuppance for Roy Moore. What. The. Fuck. I doubt I'll ever set foot in Alabama or Mississippi, along with Florida and Texas. I'm all set with that shit, even though there are countless natural areas that I would really enjoy seeing and exploring. But not worth it, I'm a damn yankee.

By the way, some kind person on Farcebook has provided me with an addition to the lexicon many here will appreciate appreciate, namely:

Evangenitals, n.pl., religious zealots who regard themselves as a self appointed "sex police" over the rest of us, and who force policy making decisions to conform to diseased mythological strictures.

The more that said policy warping inflicts suffering and harm on those outside the "elect", the more said "elect" gets a hard on. Possibly even more of a hard on than they get from dreaming about naked 12 year old girls.
