Bernie Sanders still most popular American politician

It's amazing how even Fox polling comes to this conclusion. Sanders and politicians like him are the way forward. Clinton's approval ratings have dropped since the election. Her numbers are worse than trumps.

Clinton apologists can line up and proclaim we can't know that Sanders would have done better, and there may be some truth in an absolute sense. No way can one argue the high probability that Sanders would have done better.

Not surprising. He's still fighting the good fight even after election time when Hilary and Obama have disappeared off the face of the planet and the other Dems still aren't learning. And of course he's more popular than the robber barons in the White House.

Well he doesn't get another chance until 2020 which would make him 79. Hopefully he will still be spry.

And the DNC didn't cheat during the primaries either, DNC was just pulling a Trump when they supposedly admitted that.

How many people vote in all the primaries (in total) compared to how many vote in the general election? I'm asking because I don't know. I suspect more people vote in the general election than in the primaries.

Don't waste your time. It takes a high level of motivated ignorance to keep making that same lame point after it's been explained a hundred times. :nono: Its intellectually dishonest to make that argument, or there are serious intellectual deficits.

That's not to mention the shift in polling numbers since the election. What argument to the Clinton supporters have left?

It's hardly a lame point. What the fuck all does it matter how popular a politician is if they can't manifest that popularity into making a tangible difference? Simple look at what we ended up with. Trump is about as unpopular as a politician can be yet he'll end up affecting more change in his first year of being a politician than Sanders has done in his many decades as a career politician. Because popularity means fuck all.

It is a change. Sanctuary cities are no longer. People who were once safe no longer are. This is demonstrably true. And that's just one issue. Healthcare will be fucked one way or another. Either the GOP will pass a bill which strips coverage from 10s of millions of people or Trump will proceed with a scorched earth policy to destroy the existing system.

Don't be so foolish as to believe that just because he won't fulfill his grandiose promises that means he won't do anything.

You don't think that if Sanders was 5 years younger, and ran in 2020, that he would win in a landslide? Now that he!s got the name recognition? It took a lot of suppression and collusion to keep him from winning last year. No way would people forget about that hext time.

If there is a movement to get people into the government who are not tied to the big businesses, change is possible. The democrats are less popular than trump right now. Screwing over Sanders, and more recently Ellison has tanked their popularity along with the message of "we are still on the right track, nothing to see here." People know there are populists out there now, and that will be the theme of 2020. You can argue otherwise, and be wrong again, like you were last year.

Is he deporting them at a rate faster than Obama's record rate? A record that trounced previous presidents.

In 2008 everybody expected that the next time Hillary ran she'd be a shoe-in. How'd that work out? Who knows how it could or would have worked out for Bernie in 4 years.

It's hard to swallow that movement has had much movement when the opposition is mopping the floor with you. Where are the waves of populist progressives winning elections at state and local levels? Bernie's own state - one of the most progressive in the country - elected a Republican governor in 2016. I hope it does turn around big time in 2018 but I'm not holding my breath. The Bernie Sanders of the US political scene seem to be equally adept at whipping up crowds as they are at failing to put that enthusiasm into action. I do hope I'm proven wrong.

Sander's popularity isn't surprising, he was the most popular during the election wasn't he? Since Trump and Hillary were #1 and #2 least popular, he was obviously more popular than them. The more noteworthy aspect of this is to compare it with how the DNC election went with the corporate guy with some ugly smearing of the progressive candidate. More of the same as in the primary, the Dims have not learned, they seem almost as impervious to the obvious as Trump. If this is all we got to battle Trump, it's gonna get worse before it gets worser.

I don't think there are any numbers out yet but there is plenty of information indicating more aggressive tactics than before.

There's no reason to think Trump won't deport more. He's said he wants to and possesses both the authority and political will to make it happen.

If change does come it will be in spite of him, not because of him.

It most definitely has changed. Under Obama criminals were being targeted for deportation.

Under Trump practically everyone is being deported. Even being suspected of a crime is enough.

Courts the other day told ICE officers to stop stalking around court houses. That happened under Obama?

The number of people LEGALLY in America illegally crossing into Canada has sky rocketed. How's that not a change? These people are losing limbs to frostbite to get here. "no change!" it's so unprecedented that Canadians want to remove usa as a safe 3rd nation to make it easier to come here.

South Dakota passed legislation allowing people to discriminate against others based on religion, AFAIK first time this ever existed in USA (and was created specifically with LGBT in mind).

Tonnes of people legally entering USA have been stopped, all the ones I've heard of are Muslims. Including people who were already in USA and left for a trip... Like professors, students, workers etc. When did this happen before?

His budget is pretty unprecedented. Not surprising given he ran with republicans but easily more extreme than anything seen.

The level of incompetence is incredibly high, is that no change too? When has another president accused the previous president of a crime? Or accused allies of spying on them at the behest of the previous president? I don't recall that every happening.

The list goes on and on of things that he indeed has done and changed. And it's all for the negative IMO. Americans are feeling it, you can see in polls they don't feel motivated to work and feel unsure about their future.
