They had also mentioned on the news this AM, before the events in Ottawa, that security was on heightened alert across the country because of "chatter".

I'm in the Pacific Northwest. Canada's so big events like this practically have zero relevance to my life. I couldn't be further from what's happening without being outside the country.

I'm trying to figure out what exactly I just saw in that video.

I live in a town with an air force base. I think I'll not bother going near there today.
The problem with fantasies is you can't really insist that everyone else believes in yours, the other problem with fantasies is that most believers of fantasies eventually get around to doing exactly that.

Just heard they cancelled the event. He was to give her honorary citizenship.

Also, new anti-terrorism legislation was to be introduced to parliament today.

Apparently the soldier shot in front of the memorial has died.
