You mean like in Waco and Ruby Ridge? :ask:

Not sure I'm following

I'm seeing all over Facebook, "Imagine blacks tried this", but the only similar cases I can think of - Waco, Ruby Ridge, Jim Jones - all involve Paley McWhitey.

And in all those cases there was a prolonged standoff or involvement between those groups and law enforcement. I think the point people are getting at is that blacks wouldn't be given the benefit of a long stand off.

One might also wonder whether a black group would be likely to try and enter a stand-off situation in the first place, or if long experience would suggest it was likely to end rather badly.

Also, even if some black people felt the need to have black people killed by the authorities to bolster a sense of grievance, one might think they wouldn't see any real need to go out of their way to create any.
I don't do sarcasm smileys, but someone as bright as you has probably figured that out already.

Or a mid-life crisis. Declining physical abilities and the realisation that days spent exceed days remaining leads to delusional attempt to seize power and relevance. Offer each militiaman a free porsche and a Thai bride and it'll all be over by Monday.

More armed clowns showed up at Malheur, but they were "not wanted" by Bundy and his group of goons, so have apparently left again. "Heavily armed 'security detail' shows up at Oregon standoff encampment" | OregonLive

So Bundy and 'the boys' go out and tear down some fencing between the refuge and an adjacent rancher with some wonderful photo-ops (as these bobos show the world how not to cut barbed wire) with stolen federal machines, all so that the rancher can get access to the land that the ebil gubment has cut him off from grazing his cattle on.

The next day the rancher in question says he never asked for this 'help', says he gets along fine with the refuge management and repairs the fence.

These assholes are losing this one big time. If they don't go to jail after this, there will be no end of these militias doing this kind of stuff. It is quite honestly scary reading some of the comments after these news articles. Although the majority do seem to be on the side of law and order.

At first I was afraid the government would go in there first thing. I see they're taking the smart route of letting these morons shoot themselves in the foot as many times as they can.

Must be a bit of a drag showing up with guns and taking over federal property and having basically everyone except right-wing loons laughing at you. Mostly including people on your side.

(CNN)Ammon Bundy, leader of the armed protesters who took over a federal wildlife refuge in Oregon, was arrested and one of his followers killed in a highway traffic stop Tuesday.

A law enforcement official told CNN that authorities pulled over two vehicles. Everyone obeyed orders to surrender except two people: LaVoy Finicum and Bundy's brother, Ryan Bundy, the official said.

Does this mean the end of the occupation or will it just inspire the remaining nuggets to stand their ground? What's the score with the rest of them?

I think the cops handled this rather well in avoiding another Waco. A lot of people complained that if they were black or Muslim the cops would be straight in there with tears gas and the like, usually with the implications that these yahoos should get the same treatment. I thought that was arse backwards, I think black or Islamic militia should get the same treatment as them.

The real test of equality and privilege now will be seen in how heavily the law deals with them.

The rest of them are 'standing watch' with their guns and range finder glasses, and discussing what to do when the bullets start flying. (Make sure to keep filming it)

So, yeah. Fewer laughs for me now there's bodies on the ground.

Really, these dickheads should have done some basic research into the realities of civil disobedience before they started on this path.
