Trump: Get ready Russia, missiles will be coming at Syria, nice and new and ‘smart’!

Russia vows to shoot down any and all missiles fired at Syria. Get ready Russia, because they will be coming, nice and new and “smart!” You shouldn’t be partners with a Gas Killing Animal who kills his people and enjoys it!

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman has retaliated to the US President's latest tweets, claiming relations with Moscow were worse than during the Cold War, and threatening a direct strike on Assad forces following an alleged chemical attack in Douma.
"Smart missiles must strike terrorists, not the legitimate government that has been fighting international terrorism on its territory for several years," Russian Foreign Ministry's spokeswoman Maria Zakharova took to Facebook to respond to Donald Trump's latest tweets on a possible military strike on Syria.

Zakharova went on to say that any strike could be a possible attempt to cover up the evidence proving there had been no chemical attack in Douma

Watch the Trump supporters who were critical of "war-mongering" Hilary and believed she'd start WW3 suddenly find attacking Syria acceptable.

The ad layer soliciting money to fight Trump tells you all you need to know. The ACLU isn't worried about civil liberties any more; they're just political partisans now.

Oh I see, so you only care about Trump's rights that are allegedly being trampled, and fuck all the people whose rights he's trampling.

If you're going to accuse othersof being political partisans, don't be one yourself.

I've contributed to the ACLU for years to defend everyone's rights, including Trump's, and including "alleged" rights since the job of a civil liberties advocacy organization is to take as expansive a view of rights as possible. It's sad to see a formerly nonpartisan civil liberties organization devolve to partisanship.

"As expansive a view as possible" does not mean "defend the indefensible". If you'd read the ACLU's post, you'd see they've cited the crime-fraud exception themselves. At some point, you'll have to come to terms with the fact that multiple Trump appointees signed off on this, and what that means in terms of the evidence that is, in all likelihood, at their disposal. It's not the ACLU's job to ignore what's right in front of their faces.

It's within the President's power to refrain from attacking Russia. It's not within the President's power to countermand a Russian attack on us.

If I had to bet I'd say it won't happen. Or maybe there will be some small symbolic missile strike. Trump is a looney, but he isn't that crazy.

But this isn't dirty politics. Mueller is a registered Republican appointed by a Republican on the recommendation of another Republican to investigate a Republican president.

It's quite naive to think that one's political party entirely determines one's outlook. Among the strongest critics of Trump are the "nevertrump" Republicans.

You mean the ones that are blocking impeachment votes or the ones that are suppressing bills designed to protect the special counsel? Just trying to clarify which Republicans we're talking about here.

And I never claimed that political party determines a person's outlook. Just that it's a bit rich to claim "dirty politics" when the entirety of the investigation leadership consists of registered Republicans investigating another Republican.

I have. Several times.

Your statement is a non-sequitor of the statement you are responding to. No one is talking about Russia. In fact, the initial response was how a lot of people who voted for Trump did so because Clinton was too hawkish and would go to war with Syria. Now Trump is being hawkish and is threatening military action against Syria. That is it.

Your statement does not follow the course of the conversation in which you responded.

You're incorrect about people who voted for Trump. We didn't think Clinton was too hawkish because she'd go to war with Syria. We thought she was too hawkish because she said she'd attack Russia militarily in response to Russian cyber attacks.

In retrospect, possibly Animavore made the same mistake you did, but that wasn't obvious from the post.

Plenty of Trumplings were shrieking that Hilary would start WW3 by attacking Syria. Many specifically creaming their pants in terror as she suggested no fly zones over Syria and saying don't vote her.

Not that your version of paranoid, fear-mongering is any better.

Of course this was all an act because the reasons they gave for disliking Hilary were never what they claimed; otherwise they would never have voted Trump either.
