Roy Moore elected at republican primary

#1  Postby aban57 » Sep 27, 2017 7:28 am

So the electors in Alabama had the choice (if we can call that a choice) between a candidate endorsed by Trump, which is pretty much self explanatory, and another one endorsed by Bannon and Palin, which is even more (if possible) self explanatory.

I was complaining during the French election in May, that voting was like choosing the least worse candidate. What do you say when you can't tell which candidate is worse ?

Trump has been deleting all references and endorsements of Strange from Twitter.

Moore's election sets a dangerous precedent. There are a lot of Alabamans who believe that, although Trump's heart was in the right place, he has been won over by liberals.

Moore hasn't been elected senator just yet, although given that it's Alabama, he likely will be.

He won the Repub. primary runoff, making him the nominee. The Senate special election is scheduled for December 12.

ETA: Just look at the list of some of Moore's endorsements: Chuck Norris, Phil Robertson (Duck Dynasty beard guy), James Dobson, Sarah Palin, Mike Huckabee, Sean Hannity, Family Research Council. :yuk: That's all I need to know about Moore.

Isn't Moore the former Chief Justice who installed a monolith with the ten commandments in the supreme court building, and was subsequently fired for breaching the judicial code of ethics?

Or is he the one who instructed public servants to refuse to process same sex marriage after the state's ban was overturned, and was subsequently fired for breaching the judicial code of ethics?

Oh... it's the same one. I'm sure he'll be a popular candidate.
(Unfortunately that wasn't sarcasm.)

It was a choice of the lesser of two weasels, and the weasel won, don't know if there's much of a lesser to be found between them.

I should be surprised, but . . .

http://www.cnn.com/2017/11/09/politics/ ... index.html

The Washington Post alleged Thursday that Moore initiated a sexual encounter with a 14-year-old girl when he was 32. Three other women also told The Post that Moore pursued them when they were between the ages of 16 and 18 and he was in his early 30s.

Doug Jones. Currently 10 points behind. Let's see if Republicans are willing to vote for a pedophile to represent them.

It's Alabama. They'll undoubtedly pick the most Jesusy one.

If only we could get Canada to annex Mississippi and Alabama, I think it would be enough to give liberal America the edge over conservative America, without hurting Canadian politics too badly.

From the link above.
In Alabama, the statute of limitations for bringing felony charges involving sexual abuse of a minor in 1979 would have run out three years later.

What the hell? That's pretty dumb. Well, very. I thought that there was no more statute of limitations for sex crimes? Maybe it doesn't apply retroactively, and/or only to federal cases.

I would have thought the sensible strategy would be to try and smear and discredit the victim, but no, they've gone straight for the "there's nothing wrong with paedophilia, actually" angle. It's a bold strategy, I'll give them that.

Apparently this 'good Christian' either doesn't know what the fuck "virgin" means or doesn't know shit about his own religion. Also is he implying it's okay to diddle 14 year old girls? I wonder how many he has in his closet.
