I guess the difference in her case is that, for reasons that remain unclear to me, her decision became public and, as will happen, others then reacted to her decision. Then she killed her self for reasons unknown, and some people have decided to connect the dots between the two circumstances.

The real problem here, is that the so-called "adult entertainment industry" attracts the really nasty end of the spectrum with respect to the top tiers. The sort of people who wouldn't be able to secure a senior management position in other industries, even other industries with a reputation for rapacity, because the existing occupants consider these candidates too much of a risk even in the current pathological neoliberal climate, can find a home in "adult entertainment" with disturbing ease. When the C-suite of your company consists of people whose attitudes and practices would make even Martin Shkreli blanch, you're going to be looking over your shoulder and watching for lethal consequences of the composition of that C-suite, regardless of what industry you are working in.

Combine that with the risks inherent in sharing body fluids of any sort, and the resultant mix is not a happy one.

That sounds reasonable. It would be a little odd to think that one event led to this but rather there were other circumstances leading up it. It's always sad when someone takes their own life
