Nope, don't get what you're saying here. You know that this is a rational explanation for such terrible images, but it 'won't work on you'? What won't work? Explaining something without resorting to fanciful claims?

Well no, I don't agree. That's the point isn't it - are there actually objects there, or are they products of your camera, your post-production techniques, your imagination? Just saying they're there doesn't really make it so.
