To me there seem to be just two possible explanations for her behavior. Either she's putting on an elaborate act for the sake of free publicity, or she is mentally ill. One has to assume good intentions unless it can be demonstrated otherwise. Hence to me it is clear that unless proved otherwise, she should be treated as someone with a mental condition, and hence deserving of compassion and proper medical attention.

I think it's fair to assume that she's mentally ill, and shame on ITV for exploiting her.

How about people who claim to be mediums and who go on TV and act like they're going into trances and put on the voices of the dead, do they have a mental condition? Generally people who go on TV claiming to be mediums eg pakora are doing it for financial gain/claiming to provide a service. This woman is being held up to ridicule on This Morning - yes her claim is ridiculous, but pointing and laughing is not the same as debunking.

But she's also claiming to be a psychic. The This Morning website describes her as a psychic, medium and healer. She describes herself on Facebook as a spiritual healer and counsellor. In what way is she different?

She was wheeled on to be laughed at. It wasn't a constructive debate or debunking. It was risible. If that great bastion of investigative journalism 'this morning' were really interested in a debate, they'd get on someone like Pakora or the 'most haunted' team and hang them out to dry.

Instead they've trawled social media (or the webz) for someone to be held up to ridicule.

I'm not sure it was meant to be a constructive debate, or what that has to do with it at all, actually. You first said that the people claiming to be mediums usually go on there to advertise themselves and their services, but then it turned out that this woman advertises herself as a qualified spiritual healer and counsellor. I'm not understanding how she is different, since she also claims to be a spiritual healer and a psychic, and can therefore be said to be advertising herself. Is it the outlandishness of her claims, or that she doesn't appear to be as au fait as Derek Acorah or Sally Morgan? Let's not forget that Acorah claims to have an Egyptian dead dude called Sam with him at all times who connects him to dead people, who Acorah then pretends to be.

Thumb rule: If she's selling it, she's more likely to be fake.
