Who here remembers anything worth remembering?

#1  Postby jamest » Sep 05, 2020 4:52 am

I've just asked that question in another thread, and then realised the significance of the question.

Ponder the fact that NOTHNG you know is worthy of parroting to my ears.

If you're lucky, you've got a few decades to figure out why.

Oh man, judging by the content of his posting storm he's gonna wake up with the mother of a hangover when he wakes up late in the afternoon.

I know my address, but Mrs. Lak writes it on a piece of paper and pins it to my shirt when I go out, just in case I forget.

What an unsurprisingly pretentious, idiotic question

Ahh I think I've figured it out.

I have a discombobulated neural network full of things worth remembering. A lot of it is worth telling, to the right people.

The assumption is that I have the desire to interact with jamest. If almost any of you were visiting my city I would offer to go out for a coffee or other beverage. He was literally staying a half block from my office. Nope, nope, and nope.

I remember thinking at the time it could be an enlightening experience. Does his family have to constantly deal with the sort of self-fellating twattery in his posts, or (as I think more likely) is it an internet only phenomenon?

If the OP's question is serious and there is some problem with memory then upon return try a post-it note stuck to the computer with the message "Don't forget - Drunk posting is bad"

I remember a lot of stuff worth remembering, but a lot of it is mundane and practical , or otherwise of not enough moment to share here. Some of it is too personal for me to discuss with virtual strangers. and the rest is actually not compatible with the FUA.

I just remembered that The Bangles' cover of Hazy Shade of Winter slaps.

How quaint. Declare everything as beneath you as a means of pretending not to be small and insignificant. What I'm curious about is, does it ever work? Do you ever manage to convince yourself, even for a moment? The fact that such tactics must be endlessly repeated suggests not. It must be such an unpleasant existence, constant nagging feelings of inferiority that no amount of over the top expressions of grandiosity can ever hope to quell. Something to truly be pitied.

I think you're right. I just find it hard to summon up pity among all the insults and boasts. I will try and do better.
