The difference between strength and range. The range of gravity is essentially infinite, but it isn't very strong. You can pick up a nail with a tiny magnet, despite the fact that the entire planet is pulling it down with gravity.

I should point out that the range of the electromagnetic force is also infinite, but it's attenuated by virtual particles, while gravity isn't.

There is a seventeen part Horizon series presented by him on at the moment and missed part four of it only this
morning. It was about time as well which I would have liked to have watched. I like him because he is amenable
and down to earth. He has a natural geekiness about him and is the sort of academic you could have a pint with
