To clarify, there was no “unseemly row”. Rather, “alternative facts” were demolished with evidence.

That's isn't the way I see it, newolder, but my evidence was pre-internet, so I am at a disadvantage. However, that whole debate was off-topic, because the OP was about whether particles become classical when they have collided. As the formation of an atom is a kind of inelastic colllision, I argued that as atoms are not classical, the contention was false. Period.

Yes, Hertford College, in the early '70's.
My tutor was a nuclear physicist. I got an upper 2nd class BA (hons).

Upper second? But Oxford didn't have that degree classification in those days, it was first, second or third.

Well, it was the equivalent of an upper 2nd, from my position on the full table of results.

What about other creatures? fish, micro organisms, ect..... If they are observing, is its perception solid? If a particle begins as a wave but decides to be perceived as matter, which seems to be the case, Is it changed by our perception or an outside force?

These are metaphysical questions to which there are no established scientific answers, and to which arguably there never will be any answers. Or, to put it another way, there are many possible answers corresponding to different metaphysical theories, including metaphysical interpretations of quantum mechanics.

Do not believe anybody who tells you otherwise! This area is notorious because some people don't know where the science stops and the metaphysics starts, and that includes both "skeptics" and believers of various sorts.

You think that was a "superman" post?? Did you even notice my response? Why do yiou think you are being "saved" by him? Twistor was trying to imply a lie - that I did not go to Oxford U. He was correct about OU not subdividing the 2nd class honours degree, but I have already mentioned that the colleges DO post a list of the degrees in order of merit.

I responded as i did because newolder added an insult to the joke, by claiming to have demolished my "alternative facts" with "evidence". The irony of this is that the "unseemly row" wasn't actually about scientific facts in the first place.

I had a little time on my hands, so here's how I've interpreted aforementioned events thus far. If I've got anything wrong, let me know. Thanks!

That's a lovely picture, what software did (or, if it hasn't been made yet, will) you use to make it?

There is, of course, the chance that I might not have used it, from a future perspective, should somebody choose to return to a previous point and alter events in a way that do not prompt me to use the software. In other words, it's possible I will might not have used Adobe Illustrator. However, at this juncture, I will have already used it, assuming the current timeline continues to a future point at which I mention my prior use of said software, having already done so.

newolder, I have inserted to the words alleged and allegedly in the illustration, in light of your comment. I hope that this is sufficient.

Nearly faster than the light of my comment, that has to be sufficient.
