Oh, is this how it usually goes?
She battled through in every kind of tribulation,
She revelled in adventure and imagination.
She never listened to no hater, liar,
Breaking boundaries and chasing fire.
Oh, my my! Oh my, she flies!

More or less. The last couple of times I've tried to engage him it ended with him accusing me of going back and editing his posts because he thought that what was written sounded too stupid for him to have said that. He even started a feedback thread accusing an unnamed ex-mod who had retained his powers of editing of staging this conspiracy against him, and supported his claim by arguing that I had bragged about doing it on another forum. When pressed for a link to this evidence he explains that he forgot where it was, or maybe I had mod powers there too and deleted it, I can't remember. (I think eventually he apologised for accusing me but maintained that someone was probably doing it).

Conversations just become insanely bizarre.

Ah, now I've connected the dots. I remember the Feedback thread you mention, it's only just clicked who the author was. 'Nuff said.

You ought to know that Mr.Samsa once boasted (in a subsequently deleted post) that he had exploited retained mod priveleges on another site.

That looks suspiciously like a load of off-topic trolly paranoid bullshit to me, and further convinces me that entertaining your nonsense is a waste of time.

That's entirely up to you. It's your opinion, and it seems that I can't use rational argument to change it. :(
______
BTW, I think the others will have to be the judge about whether it is I who is insane, or you and Mr.Samsa (who also has an axe to grind).
_____________
Although this thread has now been thoroughly derailed by Mr.Samsa and Fallible, I want to continue with a little.
There is ONE way in which depression can be like diabetes, and that is if it is severe enough to cause the sufferer to self-harm. The self-harm is a complication, and cannot be ameliorated by ameliorating the depression (just as diabetic retinopathy cannot be ameliorated by insulin injections). However, there remains a fundamental difference, which is that the root cause of depression is an ill-defined thing, whereas the root cause of diabetes is well defined (although it differs in the detail between type 1 and type 2).
OK, now you can start your blathering again, if your want, I don't care.

Strange question! As I said, you deleted the remark soon after I read it.

Still trolling, I see. I did nothing but talk about the subject until your posts became so incomprehensible I gave up. If you're just going to make stuff up I still see no point in engaging you. You and whoever liked your crap have fun.

A. I was not trolling. What is "crap" about anything I posted? All I tried to do from the start was to get away from the personalisation introduced by people like you, who wanted to talk about their depression", and talk about whether depression is a condition, or has a well-defined cause (I think not). If my posts are "incomprehensible" to you, that could be more to do with you than me.
However, I like your suggestion that you shoud stop posting in this thread.

I didn't say I would stop posting, I said I saw no point engaging you. Once again you've managed to mangle what's been said.

As to the off-topic shit about post alterations - you've already apologised for having "false memory" about people editing your posts, yet you were adamant at the time that it had happened. Due to this, I see no reason to believe anything else you say about people boasting of messing with people's posts then deleting it.

As to the on-topic part about getting away from personalisations introduced by people like me who wanted to talk about our own depression, you've simply misunderstood - shocking, I know - what this thread was initially about, which was talkietoaster's own depression and how best to treat it. In other words, the topic of the thread was how a member could help himself overcome his own depression and his experiences with that process, and has been used for months both for people to talk about treatments for depression and for people to talk about their own depression. Your claim that the personal aspect was introduced and you are only trying to get away from this topic change is - shocking, I know - a misinterpretation of the actual situation.

Additionally, although you attempted to troll me and people like me who mentioned they had had depression by JAQing off about whether anyone who had been diagnosed considered themselves an authority on all depression, most of the knowledge I do possess about it comes not from my own experience but from the fact I work in the field of mental health.

In conclusion, the benefit to me of engaging you beyond setting the record straight in this post is approaching zero, and indeed from this point on however hard you troll, you won't elicit another response from me. This does not, however, mean I will not post here any more. I hope this sinks in.

A link to the site and thread where I supposedly made this comment. And also please explain how I deleted the comment on another forum, given that I've never been a mod elsewhere so can't have retained mod privileges there.

It was this site where you made the comment, but it was several years ago, and I don't keep that kind of records, of everything that some everyone says. You certainly made the post, though.

I didn't say you deleted the comment on the other forum, I said a you deleted a comment on this forum, about your nefarious activities on another forum. Although you now deny being a mod eleswhere, that is what you posted.

Not really. This thread is about mental health, and somebody's obviously forgotten to take their frog pills.

No, quite clearly above you said that I made the comment on another site and then deleted it.

Or maybe I edited your post to make you say that?! Muahahahaha! You'll never stop me, I'm going to edit random words into a bunch of your old posts and you'll never know!

No, you repeatedly misconstrue what I said. I say again: you once boasted ON THIS SITE, of having retained mod priveleges ON ANOTHER SITE (unidentified) even after you ceased to be a mod on that site.

I wouldn't put it past you, if you had been a mod here, and happen to retain priveleges, due to a software issue, say.

David's just claimed elsewhere that someone removed the offending words from a post he reported since he reported it, even though a few seconds' perusal of said post will find the words still very much in evidence. Is it actually worth taking anything he says seriously at this stage? Can't we just shrug our shoulders and walk away now?
