#1  Postby Katherine » Apr 27, 2010 5:07 pm

FINALLY got to the door first and engaged in my first round of verbal tennis with the JWs!

When I opened the door and saw the woman carrying copies of Watchtower, I was thinking "OH, BRILLIANT!!!! OH, YES!!!! This is my round, and I'm gonna make the most of it!"

Problem was, was that I was so hyped up and the like, that I have largely forgotten what I said!! I remember her using the human eye argument, and the argument from incredulity though, and my last sentence. It was "you've failed"!

Apologies about the absence recently - my computer monitor went kaput and I am having to use Dad's computer until my new monitor's up and running....

They do the rounds far too early for me, I wouldn't have the energy to say any more then a few grunts and moans at those hours.

A hasty apology was what I got.. missed opportunity. Shit it. Next time JW, just you wait X O

You guys get all the fun  . The only JW that I'm ever in contact with is the CEO of the company that I work for, but I rather not debate with him for obvious reasons :) (Although I know I'd win :coffee: )
But I suffer and have suffered with them: prisoners are they unto me, and stigmatised ones. He whom they call Saviour put them in fetters:— In fetters of false values and fatuous words! Oh, that some one would save them from their Saviour!

If it's JW attention you're after, please do come round to my place on a Sunday morning, and get them out of my hair. Why do they always arrive on a Sunday? You'd think they'd have more pressing engagements. I know I do: duvet, coffee, bacon sarnie, sleeping cat in the crook of the knees. I keep a copy of Origin of Species by the front door - that generally wards them off satisfactorily. They flee before it, like vampires before the cross.

Sadly, Ive never been able to debate any JWs. I'd kind of like to, provided they don't stop by at eight in the morning.

Well, twice last year there were JWs on our door on Sunday morning. My mom drove them away however, and did not tell me about it. Found out a day later, because they rang my sister's bell as well. I was studying and preparing assignments for my OU course, and my mom didn't want to bother me with JWs.

Don't see any of them around these parts, I think once maybe a few mormons but that's about it.

I can't be bothered to debate with them. The glazed, confused expression you get when hitting them with a simple bit of binary logic is quite depressing. This is the same species that put a man on the moon for fucks sake.

I had a couple ring my bell a couple of days ago. I used my stock reaction as soon as I saw the 'good book' being taken out of his bag, which was; 'Cheers mate! Byee!' and closing the door. It was amusing to watch their outlines through the frosted glass, slump visibily, hover aimlessly for a couple of seconds, and then meander dejectedly back down the driveway.

But what are they actually hoping to achieve? I'd be interested to know the stats on JW successful doorstep conversions.

Considering there's a limited number to ascend to heaven.. why don't they keep their secret and up their chances? I would!
