Are we ever really sure it's not a dream we're having?
She battled through in every kind of tribulation,
She revelled in adventure and imagination.
She never listened to no hater, liar,
Breaking boundaries and chasing fire.
Oh, my my! Oh my, she flies!

Please. I feel bad enough already. It's not her fault she's Scottish.

I hope that's not going to offend anyone

Sorry. Didn't realise. I thought your white cross on a blue background logo was just meant to indicate 'no access for Rangers supporters'.

Sorry if you've already covered this way back in the distant mists of the thread, Fallible, but what can you remember about the book itself? Author? Title? Average number of times the word 'the' appears per page? Anything?

I think it was a Virago Press book although I'm not 100% on that. Anyway, I think it had a dark green cover like Virago books do. I don't remember the author, although Carrington did herself write a book called The Hearing Trumpet and her work is used to illustrate the cover of the various editions, but I can't find one with the picture I'm talking about.

Not this one then, obviously.

What was the book about?

I put that picture in a previous post as an example of the style. I don't remember anything useful like what the book was about. Knowing me though, it was either fiction or poetry.

You should have a go at painting it yourself, to the best of your memory, then post the image on some geeky art forum.

I did a little drawing of it to put here, but then I forgot how to post the file.

That's the easy bit. Loads of techno geeks here can help you with that, but I'm not one of 'em. Good luck.

18 September 2013 - 26 January 2014, Admission Free
New Galleries, IMMA, Royal Hospital Kilmainham, Dublin 8

The first major retrospective of Leonora Carrington's work in Ireland, this iconic exhibition is a timely rediscovery of this Surrealist painter and her role in the Surrealist art movement. Carrington is known for her figurative dreamscapes filled with extraordinary and complex narratives informed by her rich interest in mythology, alchemy, fairy tales and the occult. Leonora Carrington The Celtic Surrealist comprises some 50 paintings, eight sculptures, eight tapestries, and 20 works on paper from the 1940s onwards, holds a particular focus on the imagery that enchanted her as a child and on the cultural influences of Mexico. The exhibition is kindly supported by Brian Ranalow of H&K International.

Must check it out :awesome:

I must hear all about this if you do.

It's not a cross. It's a saltire.

I didn't make it. Something came up.

Not to worry. Here 'til January. Though I expect to see the exhibition sooner. Like, next Friday.

This framed print with the white horse was already sold when I came across it. On the bottom were the words "Sundown At The River". No artist signature. Please help me find another print by artist name or original painting name. I love this piece of art! Thank you and any information will be greatly appreciated!

I don't recognise that one specifically, but it looks to be done in a style similar to those by Frederic Remington...
