Video game music

#1  Postby SafeAsMilk » Jul 02, 2012 9:10 pm

Inspired by willhud's thread, and my recent attempts to find the soundtracks from my youth that I loved. Post your favorite video game music here!

This is gunna be a trip down amnesia lane for me as I'll probably be posting mostly older stuff, but you're certainly welcome to post more modern tunes as well :dopey:

First up: Legacy Of The Wizard. Not a great game by any means, but I always thought the soundtrack was fantastic. I used to play it at a friend's house when I was a kid, and I always remember these songs. The guy who did this soundtrack did a bunch of others, including Streets Of Rage, Shenmue and Etrian Odyssey.

Legacy Of The Wizard

Always loved David Wise. He did Battletoads and Donkey Kong Country as well as all the Wizards And Warriors games.

Wizards And Warriors 2: Ironsword

He also did Solar Jetman, which aside from having interesting gameplay had a kickass soundtrack!

Yeah we've probably been down this read before, but we've got some good stuff already. Salutes to the best Chrono Trigger track ever :D

I mentioned Etrian Odyssey earlier, great stuff with a PC-8801!

EO 3 - The Vengeful God In The Dark Ocean Abyss

EO 3 - Woodland Ruins

Good idea, just fixed my posts. Glad to see another fan of the DDS soundtrack, unfortunately I never ended up liking the game as much as the music

How did you fare with Radiant Historia? I got a little ways but was stuck, and there was no FAQ's at that point. By the time I got back to it, was completely confused about where I was

Here's a taste of the beautiful music of the Elder Scrolls game, Oblivion - the song at 9:59 is especially nice.

It took a second to load the videos in the spoiler so it might do.

I don't have Radiant Historia. I didn't even know it had been released in whatever country I live in. I came across that music on Moonravi's youtube channel which featured enhanced versions of a load of ideo game OSTs; Unfourtunately it was taken down and none of his videos are mirrored.

SafeAsMilk wrote:By the time I got back to it, was completely confused about where I was

That sometimes happens to me with games that I'm playing constantly. It took me 69 hours to complete Okami because at some points I just didn't know where the hell I was supposed to go next and ran throughout the entire map talking to every NPC I could find. There was always one I missed.
