It's back!

I bought Thief The Dark Project on GOG a while ago but only just got round to playing it again. Man, I miss old games. I’m hugely biased but I’m amazed how well the gameplay stands up nearly 20 years later. I played the game obsessively back then but enough time had passed, and the sheer size and complexity of the levels, meant I was hardly speed running through it. Of course it doesn’t quite have the same impact especially in the horror levels. I remember playing through the Cathedral level with a friend and saying “Why are WE whispering, THEY can’t hear us!”

Started playing Path of Exile.
Out of deep, unfathomable boredom.

I love the difference in comments on the new COD:WWII on America's IGN and Eurogamer. The Americans mostly lapping it up and loving it. The Europeans are like, seriously! America fighting in Europe - again!

Personally I just think the trailer is straight up disrespectful. It's like Saving Private Ryan: Rambo Edition.

finally had a good run at persona this evening and lurving it....best jrpg ive played in many a long year and ive played most of them...

yep, another run today and definitely found my groove with it now...as i said to the destroyer, its mechanics are everything i'd want an rpg to have in order to run smoothly...nothing's too overcomplicated in the menus etc, yet it has depth in spades...beauty of it is, i know i've got tens of hours of it to come and it's still throwing new stuff at me...

Me likey! It's like a mash up of Dishonoured, Half Life, Alien Isolation and Resident Evil 2. It even uses the same item and weapon slot system of the latter.

I'm quite a fan of this set. The Balance of Power Ashbringer is just too good not to use.

Also my guild is now 4/10 mythic. We killed Krosus the other night. That fight is fucking difficult on mythic. So much burning pitch to soak and its a hard dps check.

Just bought this on an impluse buy. 150$CDN (about 100$ US) on sale with some points cashed in. My refurbished PS3 cost more.

One of the all time most boneheaded moments of online gaming happened in Elite Dangerous over the weekend. As a bit of context there was a huge player event where an NPC, “Salome,” was roleplayed live by Drew Wager the author of an official tie in novel. The events in the game were going to determine the outcome of his upcoming novel. Salome was also the figure head of an in game player faction known as The Children of Raxxla, and important revelations about developing storylines in game were going to be announced by Salome during the player event. The Children of Raxxla announced that during the event any armed player ships coming near Salome’s entourage would be engaged and destroyed without question, as the death of Salome if it happened in game was explicitly stated would be permanent. Her defence, in what has to go down as the most naïve gambits of gaming history, was partly entrusted to another player group Smiling Dog Crew, the most notorious PvP ganking clan in Elite Dangerous. Smiling Dog Crew once infiltrated a PvE group en masse on the general principle that they don’t like the existence safe PvE groups in the game as it splits the player base. You are understanding this correctly. A player group entrusted the safety of their NPC figurehead, in a unique event which determined the outcome of a book, to notorious gankers. The obvious happened within minutes when a member of SDC “Commander Harry Potter” a player notorious in his own right for attacking players during charity streaming events, and ganks game developers during online stage demos, turned traitor at the first opportunity. The Children of Raxxla have gone into full roleplay grief mode at the death of their waifu leaving the rest of the community wondering what on earth they ever thought was going to happen.

Additional news on the Salome story. Harry Potter has renamed his ship "Salome's Demise" and has been hanging around the no fire zone of space stations taunting the Children of Raxxla. Two of their members have lost high end ships trying to take him down, destroyed by the station's defences for breaching the no fire zone.

I've being playing some demos on the PSVR. I look down on EVE: Valkyrie and I have a woman's body. Which is fun.
