I kinda wanna get into For Honor, but I'm fairly certain that this is the kind of game where 16 year olds with too much time and Red Bull fueled reflexes would mercilessly murder my face over and over.

Is that not true of all shooter games.

Mostly, yes, but I'm way worse in fighting games than in shooters.

Dont like any of them; shooters and fighting games. It is difficult to find a half intelligent game to play without fighting or shooting in it.

In shooters many of the top players usually exploit this thing called quick-scoping. Most of them prefer classes with bolt-action and similar sniping weapons that can benefit from the borderline cheating technique. It also helps that said people have high-end machines with similarly top connection speeds that combined with the exploits (and 24/7 gaming experience) keep them "in shape" and give them an advantage over other players. I don't really envy their "skills", because it is only partially their own skills.

That's why I said it's only partially based on skill. But, if you read how no-scoping works and why it's an exploit, and combine that with top hardware that also let's one run a game with 60FPS, instead of 30 FPS, or with a mental 120FPS, that's going to give them a huge advantage over others, who don't use quick-scope, but are pure, and for who the registration of movement happens just half a second slower, because of connection speed and fucking ping. And if someone with 20-30FPS goes into a sniper-battle with a similarly skilled other, who's got 120FPS or just half of it, guess who'll most likely come out on top. Of course, if someone doesn't have fast enough reflexes and reaction times, they can still suck at a game, no matter their rig. Someone with slow FPS and slower connection can still best them if they're faster, but that's because of their skill. And if they quick-scope, they can easily even the odds and even tip the scales in their favor. Although, for someone to properly exploit quick-scoping, they'd also need a good enough rig, to begin with. A lot depends on hardware and connection speed. And quick-scoping isn't even the tip of the spear, in the whole thing, because the advantage is there without it (just with the hardware and connection - and if one has enough skill - but it's not all skill).

You can claim your Nintendo Switch username in advance and I just nabbed Jynx, which I always wanted on PS but was robbed by someone else.

That's assuming you really want a Switch :)
I've been fan of Nintendo since the NES, but the fact that my Wii U has been piling dust since the day I bought it makes me very reluctant to buy this one. Especially since I went full dematerialized for my games and the Switch only has a 32Go HDD.

I have no intention what-so-ever of getting a Switch at this point.

This could be amazing. Not fully sold. Matt will be pleased to know it's no longer a PS4 exclusive, though the PC release date is not known at this time.

I can't find a video in this thread of that name. Exactly what is it you're referring to?
