Not sure what I think of this game from Santa Monica studios.

Bound is a 3D platformer designed for people with the desire to concentrate on the narrative side of games and experience a mature story. On the other side of the spectrum, Bound is also being prepared for hardcore gamers looking for the challenge of one big puzzle that can be only solved by a community of players working together.

Wasn't that already tried and turned out to be a huge disappointment ?

Dunno. The game is going to be playable at PSX in a couple of days so I'm sure we'll see someone play it.

For shits and giggles I decided to try the start of Assasins Creed Black Flag in Japanese.
Can almost fool myself into thinking I'm playing One Piece.

Assassin's Creed SYNDICATE

Disappointingly inconsistent AI that is either too sharp or too dumb. Nothing between. Barrels fall and kill 3 men and no one really bats and eye. Or they'll immediately go on high alert and will immediately see me, when they shouldn't even have a clue what happened and how.

I don't think I'll have the patience to make it past the introductory missions, here. I just can't be bothered.

Only reason I bought Black Flag is because it was on sale on Steam for less than €10,-.

SafeAsMilk wrote:Just picked up an ass-load of late 80's / early 90's D&D CRPG's from GOG, 20 games in total. They all fall under the "Gold Box" series, I think. One of the trilogies even takes place in the Dragonlance world, which I used to read back in the day. The battle system takes some getting used to, but I'm enjoying it so far. Should keep me occupied for awhile!

I played all of those when they came out. Champions of Krynn remains my favourite game of all time. Baldur's Gate was far superior but CoK came out at just the right time and did all of the right things.

After the Gold Box games came Forgotten Realms Unlimited Adventures which allowed you to make your own games in the style of the Gold Boxes. There was (and possibly is) a thriving community who made a load of games.

Yes, I definitely think Baldur's Gate is way better and the gold box games don't scratch my "truly primitive" itch, but still there's something very satisfying about them. Do wish there was a quick reload though, I keep fucking up the battle controls

I did get the Unlimited Adventures one as well, looking forward to trying that out. I've no doubt there's a bunch of people out there who made games for it.

Might and Magic and Heroes of Might and Magic remain my favourite computer rpgs of all time. Followed closely by Neverwinter Nights.

I want to get some of those M&M games, sadly GOG can't seem to figure out how to put them on a Mac.

The most recent iterations are a bit disappointing imo.

We got an Xbox One today as an early Chrimblybobs pressie, but we've just gone online to play/get updates and the servers are bastard-well down.

So I've resurrected the SNES. No fucking about, no paying for extra content. Playing Super Metroid, and, quite frankly, having a whale of a time.

I'm playing the beta of this and O-M-G!

From the makers of Resogun and Dead Nation, it's basically the latter meets Helldivers meets Diablo dialled to 11 in a neon bloodbath. I'll do a write-up later after work, just to say if you're on PS4 you need to add this to your must-have list when it comes out in Feb.
