not remotely resemble those of the Concorde. By contrast the similarity with the Vulcan is immediately obvious but that does
not automatically mean it was an actual template for the future airliner

I read Round the Bend a long time ago and then a couple of years later read it again. Then a decade or so later read it again. Nuff sed.

I think there have been a few including HG Wells.

Eon comes to mind and Diaspora and the Jemsin Broken Earth Trilogy.

The Time Tombs in Hyperion, Perdido Junction reaches far into human future.

Then there is Gene Wolfe The Book of the New Sun tetrology in the Solar Cycle.

I find him a hard read only because his vision is so far ranging.

There is one I can't recall about a space ship right at the light speed limit punching through a second big bang cycle ....taking human survival about as far as possible. He envisioned a RAM scoop going faster and faster consuming entire galaxies as it's mass grew as it approached C.
I recall the physics were fascinating.

I think you are referring to Tau Zero by Poul Anderson. An excellent read.
