Semen changing structurally in water?

#1  Postby Nautilidae » Mar 22, 2015 1:39 pm

Greetings, all!

A fascination of mine is the way in which semen, a semi-viscous fluid, seems to undergo a change into a sort of elastic solid after being exposed to warm water. I say warm water because I have yet to perform an experiment in cold water and I don't want to discount that potentially crucial detail.

Is there any research into why this might be?

All the little fishies go "ooh ooh that's really hot" and join together nose to tail for comfort, thus unwittingly constituting elastic fibres.

I'm guessing it's because the proteins are denaturing and cross-linking in the warm water. Reckon you'll have to try a quick one off the wrist in a cold bath to test it though. Could be challenging... :?

I would imagine that it's the proteins responding to the changed environment. Frying eggs changes the proteins there too.

Should this be merged with the Lump In The Throat thread? :ask:

I do hope everybody knows what the really important question about semen is, right? Seriously.

I hope images of Nautilidae stroking his member to orgasm and then playing with the discharge won't haunt my dreams. :ill:

Certainly can clog up a throat if all that gagging is any indication.

But Maz raises a salient point. Seriously.

OK hands up if you're a male who *hasn't* at least once transfered their spadge to a microsope slide and had a peek on max magnification?

I fail the nerd test, huh?
In Naut's defense, not that he needs one, it could have happened in a hot tub with a lady. Ya right.
