Not Nephy again is it?

Oh, by the way, he's not alone. Look up "Fixed Earth website" on Google (I'm not going to post the link here, why should these wingnuts receive a referral from us?), and bask in the tard. Before viewing that website, however, make sure you're wearing eye protection, because the wingnuts who erected that website do not possess normal colour vision, and their choices of web page background and text colours will inflict as much damage on your retina as a Class IV laser device. So even before you have a chance to be damaged by the concentrated mental fail of the website's content, your senses will be assaulted by the mere visual appearance of the web pages.

To make this even more amusing, this website was cited by Republican politicians in Texas (where else?) as providing so-called "evidence" that evolutionary theory was "religious", in a memorandum circulated in the Texas House of Representatives (kindly supplied by a fellow wingnut in, you guessed it, Georgia). You can read more about this here, where a scanned copy of the memorandum is available for you all to peruse at leisure. When the nature of the "evidence" was exposed, everyone with functioning brain cells pointed and laughed at the politicians concerned. Yes, that's right, Texas Republicans tried to have evolution removed from school science curricula by claiming it was "religious", on the say so of a website that claims heliocentric astronomy is a "Jewish conspiracy". That famous line, "you can't make this shit up", comes to mind yet again ...

Oh, and I'd really like these fixed Earth wingnuts to explain to me how everything in the night sky happens to move in such a manner as to replicate exactly what we'd see if the Earth was spinning about its axis, and how 99.999999% of the objects visible in the night sky somehow manage to move at millions of times the speed of light in order to achieve this ...

No word was spoken amidst the distant sound that grew nearer and nearer, but as I followed the memory-face's mad stare along that cursed shaft of light to its source, the source whence also the whining came, I, too, saw for an instant what it saw, and fell with ringing ears in that fit of shrieking epilepsy which brought the lodgers and the police. Never could I tell, try as I might, what it actually was that I saw; nor could the still face tell, for although it must have seen more than I did, it will never speak again.
The only things that are infinite are the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the universe.

Why did I click on that link?

Chick tracts are pornography for Torquemada wannabees.

Yeah, pretty much.

By the way, does anybody else here ever notice how all of the villians in Chick's comics tend to have big noses, black hair and big beards (even the gay people), whereas the heroes are almost always white with suspiciously aryan features?

Go figure... now what does that tell us about the people who draw these things... :ask:

But to be fair, this pattern can be found in a lot of comics/books/movies/games and so on. Heroes (the boring, standard heroes that is, not the cool dark, tragic heroes) are usually blond, tall, good looking, strong as hell, sharp minded and in every way superior to the verminous rest of the cast. Flawed heroes are so rare... *sigh* :sigh:

I'm (obviously) no expert, but surely to determine where the centre of something is you need to know the outer limits of it. My understanding is that we don't know the exact size of the universe - am I right? And therefore how the fuck can this moron claim to have evidence that the milky way is the centre of anything?
Assumption is the mother of all fuckups.

I note with irony regarding that tract in the first frame depicting what looks like a priest chasing a young boy and the last frame alleging paedophilia.

Hmm, you could be on to something here. Perhaps Jack Chick (or his illustrator) is related in some way to Philipp Rupprecht ... after all, the sort of fundamentalist wingnuttery that Chick propagates in his seedy little cartoons, has been associated with slave state style racism for decades. Arch-charlatan Henry Morris propagated the "Hamitic races" bullshit in one of his noxious little screeds, and Ken Ham's tacky little concentration camp for the mind in Kentucky has a tableau devoted to this, as PZ Myers discovered during his tour of the place. Plus, I'm reminded of a little piece of dialogue from the television series Roots, that appeared over here in the 80s. There's a group of young African-American children in a store, and they're looking at the storekeeper, with puzzled expressions on their faces, as a Klan parade is tramping down the main street. When they ask him why the Klan hate him, he says "when you look at me, you see a white man, but when they look at me, they see a Jew".

I love how they illustrate the men having as much facial and body hair as possible in order to make it seem repulsive.

"Even children were not safe from their gross perversions. Sodom's cup of wickedness was full. It was time for god's judgement."

Does anyone else find it ironic that his "judgement" was to save Lot and his two daughters so that he could impregnate them both?
