You're right. What I "think" doesn't have any bearing on the strength of that evidence. But I believe the evidence can be questioned to ensure that it really is valid evidence. So have you got any pointers to any experiments/observations which prove that ballistics are different on a non spinning body?

I recommend reading a physics book, you've got many more fundamental misunderstandings to correct before you can move on to figuring out why the universe doesn't rotate around the earth (as the rest of the world did hundreds of years ago).

Why don't you quote from a physics book to explain how physics works out that the earth spins.

Why don't you go read a physics book yourself? Most of us did it back in high school. Sometimes you have to be active in your own education instead of defaulting to the invisible fairy book. As I said, your question shows a lack of understanding of fundamental physics, there's a reason they teach classes on this instead of saying "ask on a message board." You also seem to lack a basic understanding of how science works, what a "proof" is and what evidence is.

You'd get the same night and day if the sun went around the earth.

I think you are piss mate, did you not see the graphic that SPMaximus posted?

He thinks the entire universe spins around a stationary earth.

That's what Islam can do to your brain.

I understand what you're saying. I find it hard to believe myself that it could be possible that the sun and stars goes around the earth. So i've been looking at the scientific evidence that proves the earth goes around the sun and I haven't been able to find anything that put's it beyond doubt.

Well I can remember at school that everyone was taught that all life on earth get's it's energy from the sun (theough various stages). Don't know if you were taught the same.

Then perhaps you should take your nose out of that silly book of mythology and read the Principia, where you will find, Book I, Section II (Of The Invection Of Centripetal Forces) Proposition I, Theorem I, the description and derivation of the area law, which is a case of conservation of angular momentum, and describes not just the fact that the planet spins about its axis, but how it actually came to do so.

Science has the answers to these questions, including how the solar system formed and, by corrollary, how that translates to the rotation of Earth. This is stuff that my children had a grasp of at age 5.

Seriously, if you want to learn about the motions of planets, you should put down your turgid book of wibble and pick up the some literature on real science, because it's pretty much all in there.

Incidentally, does your childish tome make any mention of Newton? Thought not.

None of the above put the rotation of the earth beyond doubt. As I said before, to prove the above you'd need to do the same experiments from a non rotating body. It could be that some other forces are at play which we haven't discovered yet to explain the above observations.

True. But also if you want to prove something scientifically you need to do an experiment under the same conditions bar the condition you are testing for to prove that it works. Hence if you want to prove Foucalt's Pendulum, Ballistics and the Coriolis effect you need to do the same experiment on a body that doesn't spin to prove it beyond doubt.

So in lieu of the reasonable explanation that's consistent with all the evidence and the most successful physical models, we ought to consider additional as-yet unevidenced forces that seemingly do nothing except make the stationary Earth appear to be rotating about its axis and revolving around the Sun?

Did you actually bother to learn how science is done before embarking on this ambitious quest to overturn the entire field of physics?

Nothing is "beyond doubt", even the earth rotating on it's axis. If you were honest as you claim, you would have to admit the Quran and the Bible are not beyond doubt. What evidence have you come across that shows the Quran's claims are correct? I'm sure if you find the evidence for the earth rotating to be lacking, then the evidence for all the claims in the Quran must be overwhelming. Please do share all the evidence that the earth is stationary and that the universe revolves around it. Please explain what testing you've done that shows this to be true "beyond a doubt."

Science does not deal in proofs, it assesses evidence and so far there is no evidence to suggest that the Earth is the centre of the universe with everything else spinning around it. Do you have any?

No, because the Earth's rotation is already imparted to it while it's on the ground.
