Well, Ned Stark was entombed as a bag of bones, so my imagination was at work.

Ned has no head I'd thought. So not sure if he can come back.

My bad, I thought you were fearing a mass-grave rising.

I liked the scene of Tormund Giantsbane trying to one-up Jamie Lannister and impress Brienne, telling the story of how he earned the epithet.

I thought people would be disappointed, the episode being uneventful, plot-wise. I enjoy a slow build-up of suspense before the battle, laying plans that are unlikely to survive contact with the enemy. All the interactions (especially when characters are discussing their possible futures after Winterfell) had added poignancy, knowing many may be fighting for the Night King by the end of next episode ( :( ); and they were well done.

I was thinking at the end, if this were an anime, most of the characters would die in the next episode. So many death flags.

Kinda odd how grossed out or shocked people are by Arya's scene in this episode.

Here am I, watching season 3 (for the first time, I abandonned at season 2 last time I tried watching it).
During the funerals of Lady Cat Stark's father, there's that classic "viking funeral" scene, and I started thinking : "Too bad we never see archers miss their target, that would be funny".
And guess what happens ? (Well you don't need to guess, do you ?)

Does this show fulfills your expectations too ?

Well they practically gave it away by saying, "Go to the crypt. You'll be safe there." "The crypt is the safest place in Winterfell." "HeyTyrion, you stay in the crypt 'cause we need your brain kept safe. In the crypt." "You girl! Protect the crypt."

I think the 'very safe' peeps are also fucked, because that would satisfy the shock factor that the last few seasons have been missing. Last chance to f with the viewers!!!

Maybe it's me, but the RS pictures seem weirdly and unnecessarily playboy-ish.

*Edit. The video at the end of the interview is great.

I was disappointed in the episode. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great. I know I’ll probably be a lone opinion on this one, or my opinion will be joined by people who just complain about popular things so I don’t want to join that crowd. So read my spoiler bit if you’ve seen the episode, but it’s also not specific in detail so if you want a fair review you can click as well: My biggest gripe is the cinematography choices. The lighting was horrible. The camera angles awful. I couldn’t tell who was whom a lot of times. The camera rapidly swirling from scene to scene was more confusing than suspenseful. Like you can a) shoot a hectic fight with a steady camera even if you are adding cg zombies and b) you can have cuts longer than 5 seconds. I promise you your scene will be fine. Unless your focus is to make the scene as cheap and quickly as possible then good job you did it.

There are so many ways to make a battle scene feel epic, enjoyable, suspenseful, yet clear and impactful. This wasn’t how you do it. The CG fights were also a massive let down. The way the CG was drawn just made it seem jumbled and chaotic instead of clear what was happening.

I personally felt the episode had potential the creators squandered. Ah well.

I know it's fantasy, but my sense of realism is being tested. The stamina and invincibility of certain characters might have something to do with it. The plot-driven number of zombies at any one moment would be another quibble. Great popcorn viewing for the masses, watching on the big screen at their local bar, ooh-ing, ah-ing, and cheering. Consider me more cynical, but still happy to watch until the bitter end.
