Yes, but not quite so in-your-face.

Fargo season 2 is fucking amazing. Easily the best show atm.

I'm only on episode 3 but it isn't grabbing me as much as season 1. Although season 1 was a bit droppy by the end.

I think it loses some suspense because obviously the cop survives to open the diner in season 1, as a widower...so it feels like he is a detached observer rather than in any peril.

True, but something happened that made him quit, and I'm curious to see what that is. Episode 4 was awesome, and now all the pieces are on the board for a violent showdown. It's the eve of the war - pun intended, I have no idea where they're going with the ufo theme...

Oh, and I can't wait to see Bruce Campbell as Reagan

Fargo season 2, I didn't even know that was gonna be a thing. Cool.

Supergirl

Okay, this guy-whose-name-I-can't-even-be-bothered-remembering, in Kara's office, who hooks them up with the computers and search algorithms...etc. who the hell is he? He even mentioned he helped Kara make her suit. Yeah? From a material that can seemingly withstand energy-blast and stuff. Where exactly did he get it from?

:nono:

Black guy, director-whoever in her foster-sister HQ...Martian Manhunter, I think.

The Knick
Medical drama set in the 1900s charts the exploits of the staff and patients at a New York hospital, where they try to maintain their reputation for quality care while struggling to keep the doors open.

Watched the first two episodes of season one last night. Rather good, if a bit bloody and gruesome in the operating theatre.

The Knick is brilliant, and so well researched. Most of the doctors are based on real doctors of the time with methods attributed to others when it suits. I'm on season 2 after following from last year.

Searching this thread I and Agrippa seem to be the only ones who watch The Knick. I was sure that was a program science types would be into.

Didn't know that about the doctors - I try to avoid reading too much about a series to avoid potential spoilers. We'll be saving season two to watch over two or three days come Xmas time.

Thanks are due then to you Ani and to Aggripina as I'm sure it was here I first heard about The Knick

Holy shit. Kevin Spacey in House of Cards is incredibly ruthless, corrupt, and manipulative. He is clearly a villainous character and yet his character of Frank Underwood is so charismatic that even after committing a murder I absolutely love him.

Just finished Season 2, Episode 1

That's around when I stopped watching.

When I've caught up with all the backlog of work for school and university, I might start watching The Knick.
