Cast Away was very good.

I just watched Reds. Three hours and fifteen minutes long. That's quite an investment. It took me four sittings to complete it. But what a great movie.

I just watched In Bruges.

Some call it a comedy. While it has it's moments, I'd call it much more of a tragedy. Not sure what to think of it yet. I liked it, but I am not sure why.

I just watched revenge of the sith again; fucking fantastic film. I can only dream the next star wars offering is anywhere near as good - how could it be without all the built up narrative.

I liked that one! Was a definite laugh. Never really saw Farrell in anything before that. Or since...but it was good!

I want to see 2001 : A Space Odyssey in the new year now that
it has been re released. It is definitely a film made for the big
screen. Along with The Deer Hunter it is my all time favourite

If you ever get the chance to see it in a 70 mm print, do not pass it up.

You have to wonder how difficult it was to get a major Hollywood studio to back a project with that subject matter. Really speaks to the clout Warren Beatty must have had at the time.

The Deer Hunter was one great movie that I'll never watch again.
I couldn't get into 2001 and cut it off early. :shifty:

I've been watching Monster's Ball (a drama). It's extremely well acted and thought out, but so tragic and melancholic that I've been watching it in pieces, lest it bring me down.

I watched Wild Side(1995) in between, which was stupid but very enjoyable. Chris Walken's role is a joke, but Anne Heche's always an interesting specimen.

That's one that I just couldn't watch to the finish... possibly because there wasn't one character that I found even remotely likable. :nono:

Holy shit, Elaine and Tony Soprano? Sign me up.

The Xmas movie looks interesting also because I have French Canadian relatives.

It's bleak and black, but in the best possible way.

Plus, Sally Hawkins is in it.

Communism. Imagine trying to pitch that concept to a studio executive without including Beatty and Nicholson in the cast.
