I watched Fish Tank from Andrea Arnold last night. Finally. Excellent film about a teenager living in a rundown housing estate. Starts with chaos and then turns into something pretty remarkable.

"Level Up" IMDB is 4.4 but it deserves higher, both this and "The Escort" are clones of 90s' two very popular movies but I dont want to give name and piss off @UncertainSloth :D

Saw The Circle in work yesterday. Started off well. It was exactly like working in Google. Then it turned to crap. It was like a very bad episode of Black Mirror.

Just watched "Killing Ground" dont watch it if you dont have strong nerves, rape, murder even throwing a baby on the ground quite brutal.

How come a 2017 movie (Dunkirk) can have 9.0 IMDB point ? Most of the time classics and decades old movies have such high point, afair even Shawshank Prison had 8.9 points.

Its uploaded but cinema recording I'll wait for divx.

Kong: Skull Island is everything I hate about modern, high-budget, effects-laden movies. 25 mins and they've already dealt their Kong card. Now I'm being treated to a cavalcade of giant animals just because they can. No build up or tension or anything.

How come a 2017 movie (Dunkirk) can have 9.0 IMDB point ?

because it is that good and destined to be a classic. You should try and see this on a big screen with good sound if you cannot get to an iMax.

It is 93% on RT despite it not being a "Murican" war movie.

Fury (2014)

This could've been really good. Actually, it is really good... right up until the last stand at the crossroads, at which point the improbabilities begin to pile up faster than the bodies.
8/10 for the first half, 4/10 for the second half. I guess that makes it a 6/10 overall.

The Last Emperor (1987) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093389/

It was a rewatch because who remembers details, innit. For those who would happen to watch it at work and/or around religion-rooted-conservatives I have a couple of pro-tips.

The NYT puts it:

The curious (to Westerners) mating customs of Chinese monarchs are reported with care.

when at around 1,15h mark promising menage a trois gets under way and under bed sheets, its interrupted just before power cords needed to be ripped out of wall by fire in storage. No panic.

However, and despite being rated as PG 13 by the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, at 10 and 20 min mark precisely there is a nipple my friends. My working theory is that Bernardo, who by his heart was against censorship, wanted to have at least a pair of nipples in the movie, possibly 4 in the menage a trois scene and all licked, but he really wanted people to be able to see the movie at work, so he had to compromise, thus struck balance according to the wolf has eaten and the goat remained whole mantra.

The thing about the nipple is that it belongs to a mother so it could be interpreted it in lactative, unlike sexist, connotations. This would be my advice to those who would fail to unplug their devices in time and accidentally exposed surroundings, less liberal than themselves, to a nipple. Its a little dodgy but its progressive.

No dragons, bit long, single lactating nipple twice, I give 7/10.

It was okay, or maybe a little better than okay. I got the feeling the book was better since the movie felt a little incomplete, so I started reading it, and it seems to be the case. What a surprise.

Once again vindicated in not seeing a particular film:
