JPR Williams, who became one of several legendary Welsh rugby union players in the 1970s, has died at the age of 74, after a battle with bacterial meningitis.
What is less well known, is that he also had a successful career as an orthopaedic surgeon.
He was a part of the legendary group of Welsh international rugby union players that included JJ Williams, Gareth Edwards, Barry John and Phil Bennett, that together won three Five Nations Grand Slams in the 1970s, considered by many to be a golden era of Welsh rugby union.
