If this is all it takes to be an "influential Muslim thinker", then I'd better not introduce them to my tropical fish, or they'll think my fish are world class physicists.

Yeah. I'm really sure such exalted abstractions are behind the typical Muslim objections to gender equality. :roll:
Actually, it's no different from Christianity, apart from having 99 names. Judaism started with one, then the Christians upped it to three. . With three vocations to match: the original smiting to which they added doing miracles with food and getting virgins pregnant. Most Muslims regard revering three vocations as polytheism, so where does that put 99? INFIDELS!

Now, try imagine a list of most influential British thinkers, period, without regard to religion. And imagine how far down that list this clown would place.

No, I'm not and if you saw my other posts you would know that. My shock face was that this guy is considered influential. I still don't think Muslims are more evil or that most terrorists are Muslim. That is not correct information.

Islam has no truck with the hazardous Christian notion that God is male (the "Father"), an assumption that has been invoked to justify traditional Western notions of the objective superiority of the male principle.
<snip>
Islam's position is thus a nuanced one. Metaphysically, the male and female principles are equal.
And more <snip>

And Islam and it's proponents do not invoke the objective superiority of the male principle?
What utter bollocks!
I have NO BELIEF in the existence of a God or gods. I do not have to offer evidence nor do I have to determine absence of evidence because I do not ASSERT that a God does or does not or gods do or do not exist.

Except that he just gets to spout offensive made-up bollocks to those who want to hear offensive made-up bollocks. I doubt his influence extends much beyond that discrete audience.
