Aaron Swartz refused a guilty plea (which was principled but unwise of him) and later committed suicide because of impending draconian criminal penalties bearing down on him for uploading a huge bunch of academic articles online. (First "martyr of dataism", as Yuval Noah Harari put it.) You're doing nothing to help yourself here.

Chauvin pleaded guilty because he knew he was guilty; whether his plea was cynical, in the sense of hoping for reduced sentence, or honest in that he felt the need to make amends, I don't know - but you don't plead guilty to a crime resulting in life in prison unless you recognize that the evidence is not on your side, and that you will be found guilty anyway.
