Yes...nowhere did I see a claim of WHO shot the plane. Only that a plane had come down.

You guys seem to be confusing a report that a plane came down with a report of who did it.

Never get involved in a land war in Asia. OK, not technically Asia, but close enough. Why in the world would the U.S. want to get into a punch up with Russia? Can you imagine the domestic political fallout? If you want to insure a Libertarian, isolationist president in 2016 just start a shooting war with Russia.

Could go nuclear, particularly if they start kicking our ass and we go tactical. Small step to ballistic after that. Russia has the 2nd ranked military in the world and have increased defense spending 92% in the last year or so. They outnumber our armor by 2 to 1, and they wouldn't have to travel halfway around the world to fight. We've got them in aircraft and naval resources, but they've also got 3 times the mobile missile launch strength we do. It has never been a good idea to underestimate the Russians, as Napoleon or the Nazi General Staff could testify. MR's idea that the U.S. is spoiling for a war with Russia is frankly insane.
