AmericaFirstPolicise paid for an advert https://twitter.com/AmericaFirstPol/status/944010246485413888

Some random guy decided to add the "backstory" to the Tweet as a joke - then everyone got confused.

Well, not exactly some random guy: Chris Hayes is quite a well known journalist, and his tweet is completely obvious snark.

Just the usual projection thing I think - because they don't get to stop people from saying things other than "Merry Christmas", they interpret that as them being stopped from saying "Merry Christmas".

Young men in red hats fear for Trump. All they wanted is for America (=white males) to be America!

How American politics goes
1 Republicans cut tax, let everything run down to barely working...8 years
2 Democrats fix public spending to normal...8 years
Rinse, repeat.

Do you think the average Trump voter gets the joke? Or do you think his so obvious snark will simply be repeated and become an urban legend among those who want to believe such things. If the latter - not good journalism.

c'mon guys, they don't send one year old's to prison for anything, let alone saying Merry Christmas. Snark doesn't get any more obvious. If someone believes it, they're the ones with the problem(s).

Meanwhile, Trump has reversed a ban on an organophosphorus insecticide implicated in neurological damage in children, after receiving a $1 million donation from the manufacturers thereof.

Apart from being criminally negligent policymaking, why aren't people calling this what it is - blatant criminal corruption?

Merry Christmas everyone. Just a lil stocking suffer for you. (Shame the recipient wasn't at home.)
A package filled with manure that was addressed to Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin was found near his Bel Air home Saturday night, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
According to CNN affiliate ABC7, the package was from "the American people."

Snip

South of the border, U.S. universities have suffered a 7 per cent decline in enrolment of international students, according to a study by the Institute of International Education. With the crackdown on H1B visas, some technology and IT companies have also begun moving their foreign workers to Canada. And so, it’s not just me.

I am surprised how little I miss my homeland, its bigoted discourse and mass shootings. I know I should have stayed to fight. But I left. I believe that if Canada opened its doors for 100,000 American immigrants, the quota would be filled in a day.

Indeed, if Canada decides to, she can hoover up brilliant academic minds from the USA with ease now. Just offer them an escape from the Orange Scrotum. Play her cards right, and she can wade in, and help herself to a nice sample of present and future Nobel laureates.

For that matter, if I was running the UK, I'd be offering these people sweetheart deals to bring their brains, research and lucrative spin-offs over here. Though the French have already beaten me to it with regard to climate scientists.

I used to say fairly frequently over at RDF, that the USA was in danger of becoming Burkina Faso with stealth bombers, but back then, I thought it was the religious wingnuts that would drive this state of affairs. Instead, it's now much more likely to happen because of the venality of corporate kleptocrats, a development I'm kicking myself for not seeing a decade ago.
