In his defense, he would like to fire everyone anyway. No one reaches his greatness.

No wonder Trump fired Comey. Trump's turpitude is so manifestly and transparently obvious, even to an elementary observer, let alone a skilled investigator with Comey's background, that having someone with that background waiting to pounce must have been unnerving on a clinically significant scale. It's obvious that Comey's basic honesty made Trump shit himself.

In short, Comey was fired because he couldn't be bought or bullied into corruption.

Trump signs orders dictated by Foxnews. States sue. Federal courts rule against Trump. We taxpayers pay bill for all the legal fees Trump administration is getting defending policy that beaks current law.

The_Piper wrote:That's a different sign that you posted, which comes a little before the exit. The one I posted is right at the exit, and is an old picture. At least, it doesn't say "old exit 62" at that spot any more. I don't remember if it ever said Aroostook county or not, or still does, but that's the county it's in, and route 1 is the main drag to get to the rest of Aroostook county heading north from that point. :)
The exits are numbered by the mile marker nearest to them, which is very convenient.

I know it's a different sign, but in the image you found, the photoshopping is blatant (the text aligns to the image, not the sign), not to mention the font's wrong, and road signs don't generally point to counties, or include state names or punctuation. On top of all that, there's an oddly smudged background section exactly the size that "Presque Isle" would be in the sign's real font.

(Not that it's important at all, it was more that the blatant photoshopping got me curious about what the sign likely said, so I did some digging  )
Sorry for the OT again, but I just wanted to post what the sign reads currently, like I said I would.

How the hell has this sleazy bastard avoided jail all this time, despite having fucked over the legal system for decades?

If anything, Comey's characterisation of Trump as being akin to a Mafia boss is a fucking understatement, on the basis of this.

All this, of course, simply brings into the open, that the USA has been, for much of its history, a corporate state masquerading as a democracy, in order to conceal its darkest motives from a gullible populace. American national security has been defined pretty much in terms of whatever policy decisions help to keep American corporations rich, and this has been effectively the case ever since the first truly large modern style corporations came into being on US soil. In the light of this, Trump is simply the first person to run with this view of the purpose of America so blatantly, and to take it to its logical conclusion. That logical conclusion being the redefinition of American national security to consist of whatever makes his corporation rich, and him in turn thereby.

On this reading, Trump isn't a kleptocrat in the conventional sense, because this requires some perception on the part of the individual enacting the requisite policies, that he's stealing from civil society and its members. Instead, Trump is so shot through with trust fund kid entitlement and pathological narcissism, that he thinks it all belongs to him to start with, and that all he's doing is taking visible ownership of what he thinks he already owns. He simply doesn't have a concept of other human beings, or the society they build, as having needs of their own to be attended to, independent of the massaging of his ego and the servicing of his pleasures. He is, in short, a mashup of Don Corleone and Lewis Black's caricature rendition of the Old Testament God, and he's edging dangerously toward self-deification tendencies, on a scale that makes Michael Jackson's HIStory pop video look like an exercise in Carmelite self-effacement by comparison.

No shit. Just google russian mafia new york real estate to see how the mafia operate, and the one thing you'll notice is that pretty much every search result is not only about Russia and NY real estate, but also about Trump. Ditto mafia money laundering through American casinos.

Being a facilitator for Russian mafia money laundering was Trump's previous job, for fuck's sake. It's not that he's like the mafia, he's part of their system.

I could type a reply, but it's easier to recycle...
OlivierK wrote:During the campaign, it was striking how much Trump used the same tactic of smearing his opponent with his own flaws. When he sniffed through a debate, he went on the attack over Hillary's stamina and suggested she be drug tested, when his misogyny was exposed, he attacked Hillary for Bill's treatment of women, when his own corruption was debated, he launched the "Crooked Hillary" nickname. The strategy goes like this: My faults are A, B, C, and D, and I know that I'll be called out on them which will be an electoral liability, so I'll accuse my opponent of A, B, C, and D, and at least in the minds of people not paying attention, it'll look like a wash. If I attack harder, I might even look like the good guy. It's Trump's number one weapon, and looking at what he's attacking people on is a good guide to what's troubling what passes for his own conscience.

I think Kim is ready for this. One of his nukes for 100 of Trump’s:

“As you know, I will be meeting with Kim Jong-un in the coming weeks to discuss the denuclearisation of the Korean peninsula,” the US president told reporters at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. “Hopefully that meeting will be a great success and we’re looking forward to it.”

It really does show how unfit he is for office, when he masturbates his Twitter mouth about forthcoming military operations.

Doesn't this self-propelled pile of knob cheese know, that the one thing you do NOT do, is tell the enemy beforehand what you're going to do? Going full-bore Mysterons in real life is a recipe for disaster.

The sensible thing to do, is make a short public announcement to the effect "measures will be taken", and only talk about the operations in any detail after they've been completed.

Announcing in advance that you're going to bomb the shit out of X, Y and Z would make even a fucking private straight out of boot camp barf, let alone anyone with command experience.

He really is a fucking dickhead.
