Looks like Trumps still has far less people.

Are both doctored?

neither one.
Soon there were side-by-side photos circulating of the crowds at Obama’s Inauguration, which filled the Mall and spilled out beyond it, and at Trump’s, which left sections of unfilled seats so broad that you could land a helicopter on them. Tickets to inaugural balls, which once cost twenty-five thousand dollars, were reportedly being given away for free. As the Inauguration ended, anarchists smashed a few windows several blocks north of the Mall, and larger, peaceful protests proceeded elsewhere in the city, with the largest demonstrations expected tomorrow. A new Fox News poll, which appeared the day before the Inauguration, found that only forty-two per cent of registered voters have a favorable opinion of Trump; fifty-five per cent feel unfavorably toward him.

As a mate of mine put it, Trump's inauguration looked like a cross between a Billy Graham fundagelical meeting and a Nazi rally.

OK, that's your opinion. However, racists such as Duke are celebrating Trump's presidency. They're doing so because Trump has said things that they believe align with their view of the world. Plenty of people who oppose racism see those same things in Trump.

Yes.

One has absolutely no control over whom or what organization gives them an endorsement. It's that simple.

That does not make the endorsement or congratulations of David Duke irrelevant. It shows us what kind of followers Trump attracts.

And while Trump has no control over what or who congratulates him or gives him an endorsement, he is in full control of his reaction to those endorsements or congratulations.

And also, don't use whom if you don't know how (who is the subject of the verb "gives", not the complement of "over", the complement of over is "who or what organization gives them an endorsement"), it gives of a pseudo-intellectual vibe.

This post prompted me to look around to see if I could find what Trump has been doing to actually solidify his use of the rainbow flag during his campaign. It certainly looks like he was playing around with that flag in a typically Trumpian (mendacious) manner.

"Trump meets with SCOTUS candidate who compared being gay with pedophilia, incest"

Donald Trump met one of his candidates to fill the spot on the Supreme Court this weekend, Judge William Pryor.

The President-elect and Pryor had a meeting on Saturday, reports Above the Law, and confirmed by the AP.

As we previously reported, Pryor wrote a legal brief defending Lawrence v. Texas, which outlawed gay sex, in which he compared homosexuality with “polygamy, incest, pedophilia, prostitution, and adultery,” and further claiming that the rights of LGBTQ people are not covered by the Constitution. The law was struck down in 2003.

“This Court [the Supreme Court] has never recognized a fundamental right to engage in sexual activity outside of monogamous heterosexual marriage, let alone to engage in homosexual sodomy,” he said. “Such a right would be antithetical to the ‘traditional relation of the family’ that is ‘as old and as fundamental as our entire civilization.”

In 2005, Lambda Legal called him “the most demonstrably antigay judicial nominee in recent memory,” in opposition to his nomination to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.

He is believed to be at the top of the list of candidates at this point.

No "with no concrete replacement ambassadors lined up.". I think ambassadors made out of concrete would do a better job than any Trump might appoint. Yeah, this is worse than bush-league, or even Bush-league BS. We need Western world leaders to start making fun of Trump, and us, the US. Ridicule is a powerful weapon when wielded well and by the right people.

Well said.

SkyMutt wrote:David Duke is still spewing racist shit.

True. He was, however, explicitly clear during the campaign that he did not endorse Donald Trump, as he expounded in unironically-titled article, "The ZioMedia Lies: I Have Not Endorsed Donald Trump!". Again, this is not an ironic title, it is an unpleasant diatribe of bigoted idiocy penned by an unpleasant bigoted idiot. He repeats his position in this interview for those who don't want to give his site traffic.

Trump was also explicitly clear that he rejected any Duke endorsement that may have been given.

The whole kerfuffle appears to be that one interview where he gave a non-answer to the question of whether he would accept Duke's support. Then lied and said his earpiece wasn't working and he didn't hear the question properly despite using Duke's name in his answer.

The thing is, the whole Duke/KKK connection with Trump is based on that one interview, whereas Trump's public opposition to Duke goes back to 2000 when he cited Duke's (who he described as a "racist" and a "neo-Nazi") joining Ross Perot's Reform Party as among the reasons why he was withdrawing from the contest for that party's nomination.

This bullshit accusation actually helps Trump. Because, when his supporters find out the claim that he is somehow connected to Duke is false (which anyone who even attempts to fact-check it will do almost immediately), they become that much less likely to believe the bad stuff about him that is demonstrably true.

The US is faced with four years of Trump. He has a Republican Senate, a Republican Congress and an open Supreme Court slot. Even if he's impeached, that just means you get President Pence.

This is serious fucking shit.

But by all means, harp on about the turnout at his inauguration (as if we didn't already know he was the most unpopular Presidential candidate ever to run). Keep making demonstrably false allegations of white supremacist links about a guy who sought and got more black and Latino support than the last Republican candidate. Keep trying to sabotage his ability to keep literally the only sensible promise he made that he looked serious about.

Keep bullshitting, sneering and denigrating the people who voted for him.

All you'll get is two terms of the fucker.

So was it made in America?

"I don't know where it was made actually," Young said. "Let me check." She took off the hat to check the label. "Oh no," she cried. "It's made in Vietnam!"

In his speech, Trump struck a fiery, protectionist tone.

"From this moment on, it's going to be America First," he said. "We will follow two simple rules: Buy American and hire American."

Well let’s use some facts.

Do you or does anyone else in this thread have any proof whatsoever that there is such a connection?

Not cartoons, snide remarks, innuendoes, off-the-cuff statements, but real and verifiable proof, because this is a forum for rational thinkers and we require data and facts.

I don’t think that that’s too much to ask.
