http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/conservative-lead-labour-cut-seven-points-general-election-poll-latest-jeremy-corbyn-theresa-may-a7704796.html
The Conservative lead over Labour has shrunk by seven points, a new poll has indicated.

The YouGov poll, conducted for The Times, showed support for the Tories at 45 per cent, down three percentage points from last week.

Labour increased its support by four points to 29 per cent, while the Liberal Democrats were down two points to 10 per cent and Ukip rose two points to seven per cent. (cont.)

A bearded mugwump in Number 10. It could be worse; May could get back in again, and then we're really fucked.

Genuine question? Anybody heard about this on tv anywhere?

I can now confirm that a third package was removed from @thesnp HQ in Edinburgh on Tuesday

https://twitter.com/GlennBBC/status/857646873292804096

That's apparently an MP (Nicholson), a council office, and the SNP hq sent (fake afaik :? ) suspect packages. Maybe it's just me, but why don't I know about this? I heard something about it and so went to the BBC website yesteray, nothing, went to the Scotland page, nothing, went to the Scottish politics page. Nothing.

I saw a ticker tape mention of a white substance posted to politician(s) on the BBC website earlier today.

There is an article.

In other news, the libdems appear not to be "back", Labour are fucked, and the Tories are [censored].

Our model sees the Tories on 422 seats, with Labour reduced to just 150, and the Lib Dems declining from 9 to 6.

Will this translate to seats? It appears to be a national poll. Also, is it factoring the increase of voting registrations among younger voters?

If it is a landslide, a rapid Labour coup, followed by a progressive alliance and using all possible means to get a vote of no confidence through Westminster, will be the best chance of capitalizing on Brexit chaos.

Or Scotland declares UDI, leaves England to her fate, and prepares for refugees ...

Yup, it's not a foregone conclusion, especially after the campaign ramps up, and the CPS make their charging decisions (don't put too much hope there, it's effectively the government prosecuting itself, but every little helps). The ideal outcome of a hung parliament appears to be retreating, but haven't ruled it out. Anything that keeps the Tory majority to under 100 is ripe for a rematch not too far down the line.

A vote for Theresa May will mean a government that is stable, strong, and very, very long. With soft cuddly labrador puppies for the rich, and shit for everyone else. Just sayin'.

Feeling pretty strong and stable today, might go to an empty warehouse and talk to some shelves.

Strong and stable is still pretty good electioneering even its complete bullshit (along with coalition of chaos). The Tory party have spent a lot of money on media advisors to come up with that. Where are the Labour and LibDem equivalents (the SNP have 'freedom!!!!')

Strong & stable has already become a joke. People are laughing at her 'strong & stable' line. But she's so strong she can't face Corbyn, Sturgeon et al. in a TV debate. If she can't do that, she's hardly strong enough to be negotiating with 27 EU countries over Brexit. She's left herself wide open on this one. Strong & stable will be replaced with the equally alliterative 'weak & wobbly', then she's toast.

There wont be any negotiations in the classic sense. It will be very one sided. Trying to give the impression of being 'strong & stable' wont fool anyone. No wonder she wanted the elections before the Brexit talks (a better word for them as she will be talked to by the EU).

Do you think the UK has an inflated sense of its own importance?

No the people on this forum are laughing at it (and maybe the EU too),up 40-45% of the electorate are lapping it up. It's a very powerful message even if it doesn't mean anything. When Corbyn has gone Labour desperately need some media management who can come up with something like that. Maybe when Brexit goes to shit they can come up with some Blair like saviour message (again the policies won't be that important). The Tories will of course go for stabbed in the back, so I reckon it will be 2022 traitors versus saviours

Interesting, thanks. Do you think that the EU is basically the one with all of the bargaining chips, and the UK is just going to have to take what's on offer?
