Thank You for Your question, David McCulloch.
The word "photon" suggests a particle. In particle physics usually particles are ending with "...on" like "electron", "proton", "neutron" etc. And a particle suggests "mass". Every particle has got a certain mass, that is not equal zero. If something doesn't have mass, it is no particle.
And this is the so called "photon". Light is a part of an "emission-field" and this doesn't have got "mass". This part of an "emission-field" You can call "quantum", but please don't name it for a particle. It definitely is no particle, but an electromagnetic wave, that is spreading radial all over the space and is not located at a certain volume within the space, like a particle is.

'Particle' describes discreetness, not mass. A photon is a single quantum of light and a particle.

Mass, like charge, is just a feature that some particles have.

Any chance of seeing a derivation of this formula?

Anyway, even though 'discreetness' is in the dictionaries, 'discretion' is what I prefer. As we all know, indiscretion is the better part of squalor.

And if squalor exist then surely it is in Mumbai the source of all curved time and space.

For ages, I thought that the fundamental concept of quantum mechanics was that position and momentum were properties that were free of charge.
Here we go again. First, we discover recursion.

Ah, but the curvature starts beyond the event horizon. <smug>
