In simpler words, the delusional person rejects reality. And in this rejection of reality, others have to play along with how they view the world, otherwise, their world will not make sense to them. It's why the delusional person will get angry when they face someone who doesn't conform to their world view …"

The easily-indoctrinated sheep live lives of fear. Warriors follow the saner path of determining what is an actual threat and what is an attempt by tyrannical elites and their lackeys seeking to control the masses.

The moon wouldn't migrate away if all forces were equal. The inequality in this case is tidal braking on the rotation of the Earth/Moon system, which pushes the moon into a higher orbit to conserve angular momentum.

There's also the small matter of the limit to which you can visually detect parallax with a baseline of - I'm guessing in your case based on your output - maybe 10 millimetres. With a larger baseline there'd be no coincidence. Given the recession of the moon, of course, the final coincidence is simply that we live in a time when the difference in distance between sun and moon fits nicely in that pocket so, yes, a quite literal coincidence.

If you're looking for cult followers, you'll need to find another venue. A venue in which people are daft enough to consider you knowledgeable.

You're close. Very close.

The problem you're having is you have no ability to detect when you are wrong. You have no functioning bullshit filter.

Another problem you're having is that I don't think you would care about being wrong, even if you could tell.

Paul, do you realize that you just come across as a complete moron?

No one's buying into the eccentric genius ploy you're attempting. It's just delusional wittering, and not one person here is going to think anything else.

You need a much softer venue. I would imagine a sack full of hyperthermic squirrels might be more appropriate?

As ever, I got lost in your first sentence... Hey ho.

Anyhoo...

Moon albedo ~0.12 (12% incident light is reflected)
Earth albedo ~0.31 (31% .. ..)

The moon reflects like asphalt does.

The moon is almost completely unaffected by changes in the pressure of the Solar wind (until Sol has some sort of mega eruption, at least) so, it's not like a barometer at all.

Things that are light, reflective and ring like a bell are ... (hotel reception) bells (amongst other 'things').

How is any of this related to brainwashing and/or the coincidence that currently our moon is 400 times smaller than Sol but 400 times closer to the Earth, on average?

Aha! I missed:

and also the replies. As you were...

SOME rational PERSPECTIVE is required, obviously, before you start lashing out at people who are DONE with this over-reactionary nonsense. Though it's probably too late anyway, as this perspective was required at the start, not a year later.

Indeed, some rational perspective is required. If we'd had a rational Government, like NZ or Mongolia, we'd have followed the WHO pandemic playbook, locked the nation down properly and instituted quarantine at the borders on Feb 2020. Got the virus under control, then gone on with our lives. But, that would interfere with Tory financial interests too much, plus too many Tory MPs thought any attempt to the control the virus was "over-reactionary nonsense" so well versed in science were they.

Instead, because the Tories are in charge all that has happened is just enough, barely enough, to prevent the NHS being overloaded and bodies piling up in the streets as per Italy. Bodies in the streets are something all but, the most frothingly insane Tory, can't ignore. So that bad press has been avoided. Yay.

Meanwhile people have been subjected to penury due to successive half-assed lockdowns because the Government of 6th or 7th largest economy on earth won't actually support its populace properly.

The virus has yet to run its course and will, if the H1N1 influenza A pandemic of 1918 is anything to go by, will be around for years before it becomes endemic in the population. Because too many Governments dropped the fucking ball on this. And the current iteration of the virus still kills people. It is anything but, mild. There's no guarantee that the next inevitable variant will be less troublesome.

Its so sad that here, in the 21st century, we have Governments that still fail to care for their population by a huge margin and that some of said population thinks trying to take modest precuations to care for each other are, in some way, "over-reactionary nonsense."

What's been one of the really striking features of the whole thing is those people who invoke notions like liberty in protest at the 'oppression' (masks, lockdowns, vaccines), especially those who talk about the sacrifices made for that liberty, all while totally ignorant of the sacrifices that must be made to achieve and maintain it, understood only too well by those who made those sacrifices and whose memory is being shit upon by the very people enlisting their involuntary support.

The last two years has really diminished my assessment of humans, and it wasn't that good to begin with. What a shitty species we are.
