(In an entirely wholesome and perfectly legal way of course....he's not that sort of a character.

Character name, book title, and author would impress me but I'll give the proper character name if that's too obscure for you literati.

^It's good but it's not right.

The character's proper name in the book was Kelderek. He did actually have yet another, third, name which was Crendik but I don't recall it ever actually being used in the book.

Edit: I meant to also give the character's surname which was Zenzuata.
I don’t think we’re for anything, we’re just products of evolution. You can say “Gee, your life must be pretty bleak if you don’t think there’s a purpose,” but I’m anticipating a good lunch.

Ok, my turn then.....

My character's best friend is also known as Snowman.

If you could find his name that would be cool, but his nickname will be enough.
Phew... for a minute there, I lost myself, I lost myself.....

The_Metatron wrote:What you were looking for earlier was the author who goes by the pen name of Trevanian. The first character comes from a book titled Shibumi. Highly recommend it.

Highly.

I could've got that if I'd seen this thread sooner. It's a book I've read many times. It's even better for having visited the region in the Pyrenees. The people there are as described within and the scenery is truly breathtaking.

Well now, that's extremely cool. How were you received there, as an outsider?

Polite indifference bordering ignorance. For example, service in cafes. The French, in my experience of travelling there extensively for 15+ years, are not given to break-neck service but in Basque country, you may well miss a meal if you don't very obviously draw attention to yourself.
The Bible is full of interest. It has noble poetry in it; and some clever fables; and some blood-drenched history; and some good morals; and a wealth of obscenity; and upwards of a thousand lies.
