So it seems that Bioware will address the ending soon. I'm curious to see what they have to say.

Thanks for your money, suckers!

This is why we're organising a mass unsubbing from SWToR. That's money they'll miss!

I haven't played any of the ME games but I've been following this ending BS. Seriously, you guys got spit on. Every game seems to have stressed your influence on the outcome of this EPIC tale. You are even encouraged to go back and replay the 1st 2 and pretty much forced to partake in multiplayer for a single player game, and after all this they toss it in a blender and give you this soupy mash of mediocrity. I'd be pissed too.

This was posted on the Mass Effect FB page yesterday:

We are aware that there are concerns about a recent post from this account regarding the ending of the game. In this post it was stated that at this time we do not have plans to change the ending.

We would like to clarify that we are actively and seriously taking all player feedback into consideration and have ruled nothing out. At this time we are still collecting and considering your feedback and have not made a decision regarding requests to change the ending.

Your feedback and opinions are of the utmost importance to us. We apologize for any confusion this has caused. Our top priority regarding this discussion is to keep communication with you, our loyal fans, open and productive.

The timing seems to bode well for us that want the ending that was advertised.

It could be though that they decided to announce the cancelation of this unannounced project at this time just to make people think that it bodes well when in reality it might just be a PR stunt to get the angry fans to back off a bit.

We'll see.

*spoilerific post warning*

The only thing I would say is that whilst the ending was shit, there were lots of "endings" throughout the game that were incredible.

I was browsing youtube to see some of the paths not walked and came across, for example:-

Now, if those aren't proper endings to an arc, I don't know what is. These were two of my favorite characters, and I could never have brought myself to do this to them!

The comments on youtube are great too, such as:
this was just absolutely horrible, i thought it was sad how you kill legion when saving quarians, but this is just terrible i literally was tearing up at this

I also find it interesting that people spotted that you actually shoot Mordin in the back with the very gun he gave you as a sign of trust (regardless what you had equipped) back in ME2, then throw it away in disgust at yourself afterwards. The attention to detail, emotional resonance and obvious intelligence that went into these "endings" just shows us what we missed out on in the "final ending".

I think that would really backfire on them, i.e. if it was just a ploy.

I'm just listening to the ME3 soundtrack and just listening to the music makes me feel very emotional. It is almost inconceivable that they would put so much effort and money into something that was so emotionally powerful only to leave it on such a dry (not to mention totally confusing) 'cerebral' note.

A guy sued EA and Bioware because the ending of the game didn't fit what they advertised and promised before the game came out...

@Thommo, those are just horrible! Thank heaven I didn't see a walkthrough that went that way first. Not that I have any desire to watch a Renegade version, even if some of the renegade choices are quite appropriate at times.

I did happen on the "Tali commits suicide" YT title before I watched Rannoch. I didn't actually watch that clip but all through the Rannoch episode I was fearing the worst!

You mean the guy who lodged a complaint with the FTC and announced it on the official Bioware forum? If so it's just a complaint.

However, it is false advertising.

We were promised in advertising, prerelease statements, interviews, etc that the number of endings to the game would be countless and unique depending on how we arrived at the end, that the ending would be determined by our actions over the entire series, that it would provice closure and that it wouldn't be a Choice A, Choice B or Choice C ending because it'd be driven by our actions.

All they did was present one ending and ran it through a colour filter depending on whether or not you went with Choice A, Choice B or Choice C to end the game.

If that's not false advertising I don't know what is.

There were more rumours today that they had to gut the ending of the game because EA told them they were out of time.
