I don't plan on ever buying a 360. If I buy anything from that era, it would be a PS3 for the later Ratchet games.
There are lots of N64 games I want to play, so I'll probably buy one of those.

The problem today buying consoles that old is not the console itself, it's the games. It's going to be hard to find them.

Too me its the television. If you have an old school box television to play the old consoles on than you are all set, but playing my n64 on my LED HD flat screen is like looking at a blurry image for too long.

The good ones from the N64 go for ridiculous amounts of money as well. Goldeneye, Smash Bros., the Zeldas, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Banjo-Kazooie, Mario Kart, the Mario Party games... Expect the price of a new AAA game (or two!) for one of those cartridges.

If I sold my old cartridges tight now, I'd probably get enough for a new console plus a couple of games out of it. Maybe a mid-range gaming PC. But I won't.

Still have my N64 and Conkers Bad fur day, Bajo-kazooie.. zelda and lots more

That's because it was.

Picking up the carts at a good fair price can be hard at times. Banjo Kazooie is going for between 40 and 100 dollars on the Australian eBay which isn't too bad. Popular games at the time tend to have enough carts in circulation to keep the price fair but some do spike very high.

The other option is to go to pawn shops and flea markets and try and pick them up there when they pop up.

My brothers and me scoured second-hand shops around here for N64 games a year or so back. Even they knew what they could get for the popular ones. The blessings of the intertubes at work.

Shooters on the N64 were not very good, but I blame the controller for that. Aiming was nightmarish and required serious finangling skills

We didn't have to ban him because none of us hated the others enough to pick him.

Goldeneye isn't really a game for precise aiming, you really just need to get the bad guys in front of you and to spray bullets. With skill you can pull off headshots pretty easily in the aiming mode but thats for the harder difficulties.

We had that house rule too. The Janus Marine was banned on the complex as well, as he blends in with the walls. Baron Samedi was more or less suicide because his topper counted as a headshot. For some reason everyone wanted to be Trevelyan.

I played Goldeneye last month at my stag do, honestly one of the best parts if the day.
