And awesome too!

We all have seen dogs snuggling and wagging their tails. That's the closest to how I feel when I try to comprehend the enormity of space!

If I am not mistaken, this photo was taken near my home. It is part of the Olympic Stadium. And yes there were severe thunderstorms, and lightning earlier this month.

EDIT: Yes, I was right, in fact of where this was shot: http://www.greeksky.gr/files/photos/animations/20100628ThundersVideo.htm

Well, if the theory that lightning is initiated by the cosmic ray flux to the earth is confirmed, I guess we'd learn a bit more about the cosmos. Either way, it's a stunning image.

2010 July 22 - The Meteor of 1860 by Frederic Church

The breakthrough was spotting the connection with Church's relatively little-known painting.

Rare as rocking-horse shit, an example of the church contributing to science!

Now, it may be the fact that I haven't seen too many paintings, but this one so far is the most life-like I had ever seen. It's almost like a photograph.
