Agreed, I just thought it would be a good laugh to peek in on what he's been up to. Anyone unfamiliar with this character who might be considering debunking his internet enterprise of bullshit be warned: He has no understanding of basic biology, takes everything as a personal affront, accuses everyone of being indoctrinated, and when you destroy his arguments with logic and reason he behaves like the knight in Monty Python and the Holy Grail who refuses to acknowledge his arms are cut off... and at the end of it all you will realize your time would have been better spend slamming a door shut on your genitals.

This is just... beyond stupid. This guy may have evolved to a new level here. As was made painfully apparent when it became obvious that this 'dentist' was unaware of ground breaking research into the evolution of vertebrate dentition, knowledge of which is being used by various scientists to develop the next generation of dental technologies and therapeutic agents. These scientists are elucidating the underlying genetics driving tooth morphogenesis, including how the mechanics of bmp signalling affect the fate of a proto-tooth in a specific region of the maxillary and mandibular mesenchymes, and devising ways of manipulating this so that, for example, instead of having to make false teeth for people over 65 in future, we'll be able to manipulate tooth morphogenesis in the gum and generate a complete new dentition. The fun part is, these scientists have already been able to modify the outcome of tooth morphogenesis experimentally in laboratory rats, swapping incisors for molars during embryonic development, and their researches also point to some interesting new information with respect to the evolution of vertebrate dentition. I suspect that some of the genetic work being done on the zebrafish is also proving illuminative in this regard. Yet, our 'dentist' was completely ignorant of this research, and tried to hand-wave it away when I presented it to him over at RDF. The stand-out for me was his argument that 'we' assume that humans and chimpanzees are related, rather than concluding that fact based on the mountain of available evidence. Oh, and when we cited articles from Nature and Science, he responded something along the lines of not caring which "magazine" we cited as evidence.

He's also a reference case in my observation that engineers love untelligent* design. For some reason.

The defining moment for me was when he denied common ancestry between dogs and wolves, even while acknowledging the existence of dog/wolf hybrids. I don't think even NephilimFree would be that stupid.

I'll admit there does seem to be a vocal minority that likes to use their engineering credentials to pass judgement on matters of biology but please don't tar us all with the same brush. Our reputaion's bad enough as it is
