That's quite a generalisation. There is a lot of crap entertainment coming out of America, but then there's a lot of entertainment coming out of America full stop. So obviously there's going to me more shit American shows.

But there are some brilliant Yank comedies. Curb Your Enthusiasm and Arrested Development are two shows I'm really enjoying at the moment.

And as for drama, I don't think any other nation can equal the States. Sopranos, Mad Men, Game of Thrones, The Wire and Boardwalk Empire are just some examples of utterly brilliant and unparalleled shows.

And don't even get me started on science fiction. No one else comes close to America with this genre.

Lol, of course. We're just too dumb and brainwashed to realize it, right?

Well, you do spell "realise" with a "z" (and that's zed, not zee). ;)

I actually like Seinfeld, "still funny after all these years," but if you're scratching your head, check THIS out!

Oh come on Mac they are crappiest of the lot. American drama :yuk: :yuk: :yuk: :yuk: :yuk:

Look at British, Danish, Swedish drama now that is quality.
Not that American drivvle. TF it never reaches here on public television. Only the crappiest commercial channels of RTL does it get a showing here.

Anyone who thinks anyone needs to re-evaluate their attitude and worldview because of a TV show needs to re-evaluate their attitude and worldview... :shifty:

HIMYM, South Park, Family Guy, American Dad, The Cleveland Show, all these are TV shows. If you don't like it, don't watch it. I personally enjoy all of the above except for the Cleveland Show (never got the humor on that one, although I only watched the first few episodes). As long as these shows aren't systematically lying to people like other shows on certain networks do (*cough* Fox News *cough*), I don't see the point in debating which country has the most enjoyable TV shows. Pick the ones you like, watch them, and ignore the rest.

Having lived on both sides of the pond the answer to that is simple. There is complete shite and excellent shows both in the UK and US. The style of comedy is most certainly different, but to think that there aren't extremely funny and well written shows in the US is just not true. Like everywhere else, you need to wade through the crap to find those few gems.

Crap American drama? Lol?

You must be kidding, Breaking Bad, Boardwalk Empire, Dexter, not to mention the now finished Sopranos and the Wire. This is just naming a few.

I suspect there's been a lot of airbrushing in that photo. It almost doesn't even look like her.

That's because she wasn't born. She was grown in Joss Whedon's basement.
