Louis Jourdan 19 June 1921 – 14 February 2015
was a French film and television actor. He was known for his suave roles in several Hollywood films, including The Paradine Case(1947), Letter from an Unknown Woman (1948), Gigi (1958), The Best of Everything (1959), The V.I.P.s (1963) and Octopussy (1983). He played Dracula in the 1977 BBC television production Count Dracula, and played Dr. Sorell in the TV films Fear No Evil and Ritual of Evil.

I just watched an episode of Columbo a few weeks back with Jourdan as the guest star. He was a fine actor and had such a charming personality. :(

American swing and bebop trumpeter, a pioneer of the flugelhorn in jazz, educator, and NEA Jazz Masters inductee. He played with Charlie Barnet (1947), Count Basie (1948–1951), Duke Ellington (1951–1959) and Quincy Jones (1960). Terry's career in jazz spanned more than seventy years and he is among the most recorded of jazz musicians.

A Sierra Leonean who worked with children orphaned by Ebola has died of the disease himself. Augustine Baker had been admitted to an Ebola treatment centre after becoming ill last week. He had worked for an orphanage run by a UK charity on the outskirts of Sierra Leone's capital, Freetown.

US engineer, writer and blogger of Bangladeshi origin. Dr. Avijit Roy was prominent advocate of the free thought movement in Bangladesh. He was an engineer by profession, but well-known for his writings in his self-founded site, Mukto-Mona—an Internet congregation of freethinkers, rationalists, skeptics, atheists, and humanists of mainly Bengali and South Asian descent. He was hacked to death by Islamist killers in Dhaka on 26 February 2015.

So sad to hear about Spock. :( He really brought a lot of enjoyment into this world.

As a fan of his I’d like to post a URL. For anyone that loves his work, you may be unaware of some sterling work which he and John de Lancie did together some years back. These stories are top-notch dramatizations. I bought them all and I’ve listened to them more times than I can even begin to remember.
